winch....
I got a Mile Marker winch installed by the dealer on my 700 twinpeaks I had some questions about it, first is it a good winch, and second it seem that if I continue to pull wire in that it might pull the whole hook thru? will it? Should I only pull it until it is almost all in? what is the proper method? Thanks

I haven't owned one, but from what I've read they are OK.
As far as how far to reel it in, you don't want the cable so loose that it can move around much, as it can loop over it's self and cause a tangle.
I got a tip from another site about buying a boat trailer roller, the center kind with the V shape. Cut off an end and put it over the winch cable, and put the hook back on. It makes a great way to keep the cable tight w/o smashing the hook into the fairlhead, and they are only a few bucks.

You can kind of see the 1/2 boat roller in this shot. I thought they were handy becasue they already have a hole down the middle and are solid rubber, plus you can pick one up for like $3 in any big box mart that has a boating dept.
