Default Different types of quads

A friend of mine is looking for a 4x2 Utility quad. It has to be automatic, and it has to be a 300-500cc full-size machine (24-25 inch tires). Hes looking to spend around $2000 so probably a 97-02. My question is; What different machines fit this criteria? I would prefer it to be a Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, or Yamaha. I will NOT let him get a Polaris because I'll be the one fixing it when it breaks. Thanks in advance.

Not too many choices. Arctic Cat has the 400 auto 4x2 that they made in that time period. Easily pick one up for $2,000. They were very solid machines with Suzuki engines.

polaris trail boss,magnum 325.
yamaha bear tracker,bruin
not to many to list. other quads are ; arctic cat 250 and 300 (both are mounted on a full size frame in the years you listed)there are no more 300s and the 250 is smaller now.
honda recon 250
kawasaki buyou 220-300
suzuki ozark 250

Thanks for the feedback. But the recon, bayou, and ozark are all too small and are five-speed auto-clutch. I know there are more, such as my brothers 300 prairie automatic 4x2 which is full-size. I'll definitely look into the Arctic Cats.

Don't worry about it. I just appreciate the responses. I've been looking at ATVs around '97-'02 and it seems like the only options that fit the criteria are the Kawasaki prairie and the Yamaha Kodiak. I can't find much about the Arctic Cats. I refuse to let him get a Polaris because I've just seen and heard too many bad things about them.
