I just bought a 02 rancher 350 4x4. It has a 2000lb superwinch mounted on the front. The problem i have is the handlebar switch is busted off and missing. All that is there is the 4 connecters (2 black and 2 red). One pair goes to the winch and the other to the battery. My question is if i get a universal switch do i need the contactor also? Is there a specific switch i should get for it?

I would like to test the winch before i buy a switch, do i just hook the red wire to the + and the black to the - on the battery?
