used sportsman 500 vs new brute 650
#1
i found a good deal on a 05 sportsman 500 ho camo with 800 miles for $3000, but looked at a new brute force 650 for 6500 +tax and i cant make up my mind. Any input?

Hard to give any advice or input on this. Just stating the obvious: It's a good deal on the 500 (assuming that you meant 800 miles, not 800 hours) but the BF will be a better bike - for lots more money. Buying used can be a good deal or it can turn out to be a bike with hidden problems, buying new has noe of that plus a warrantee - once again, for more money.
Look at how important your budget is, if you can afford and justify the twice as high price for the BF, then you will be getting a better bike.

ya i meant 800 miles, one of my friends has it and thats what the dealer was gonna give him trade in. Im kinda a leary of kawi financing ive heard good and bad. dealer said they had 9.9% fixed for 60 months or they had $79 month at 8.9% for 2 years then it goes to 13.9%. I really only want to pay about 150 month

Forget the dealer financing, go to a credit union. Definately DON"T go with the dealer low intro financing -really a bad deal that can kill your credit.
If you have halfway decent credit you should be able to get a loan from a credit union for 6% to 8%. 60 month credit at 6% for $7,000 is $135 a month. Same numbers at 8% is $142. Either will fit your monthly budget. There is really no reason to ever finance from a dealer - they are just buying their financing from somewhere else and making some markup in the process.

The 650 is more of a Machine than the 500 but not $3500 more of a machine thats for sure. Is this the Brute force with the straight axle or not?
Don,t worry about 800 miles you will have a new ATV up to that milage before you know it.
