The yamahas are hard to beat durability wise. i have to say i beat mine like it owes me money. I could not be more disrespectful to that thing. i even sank it in a lake once. it still starts without the choke, purs like a kitten and doesnt quit under the harshest conditions.

Interesting Utube videos, but mostly worthless for forming an opinion. EVERY ATV manufacturer puts out those videos and every manufacturer will spin it so that their machine is superior to the others.

None of the ATV companies CEOs would put there money where ther mouth is and step up when Polaris' CEO challenged them a couple of years ago. They all say they have the toughest, or the best, but nobody except Polaris had the guts to prove it. Draw your own conclusions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGfBFhiu94Y

I agree with some of that but i have had 2 polarises 1 500 sportsman and one 700 sportsman and they constyantly let me down. My new grizzly is great it is well built and everything is sealed unlike polaris wher ethe electrical looks like children slaped it together. My freinds have brute force and can am but i personaly liek my grizzly wheith its power steering but teh can am is the fastest out of the 3.

It's funny, I've been around several Polaris bikes that have been almost abused and none of them have ever failed or even stumbled. I don't see where anyone can say they're over rated. I think people are more often times missinformed or believe in "hear say". It cracks me up to see someone bash a bike of any brand and when you ask them if they've ever owned or ridden the bike they're bashing they say "well......um...no". All brands have their problems and they all have their good points. I don't think any of them are over rated and will gladly put my stock popo against any stock bike in it's class.

I understand you're looking for durability.. and I think they are ALL durable. But please, please, consider that Polaris is made here in the USA and your doing your brother (and ultimately yourself) a favor.
