Default Flat Proof Tires and Wheels, Tire & Wheel Combos, Your Thoughts???

I am Researching THE WAY AROUND ( THE FLAT TIRE IN HELL!!! )

I think, we can all agree that just one FLAT TIRE can ruin your whole day...

Now if you keep your Quad in the Dirt, it can go for Years and never get a FLAT TIRE, however in the Western United States, we have Billy Goat Thorns, and the head breaks off and the thorn works it's way into your tire till one day you have a Mystery FLAT TIRE...

So I wish to nip that FLAT TIRE in the bud, and never get it in the future...

Do any of Yous Guys, GOT ANY THOUGHTS on this FLAT TIRE ISSUE ???

i use tire slime. I had it in my 589s and had haw thorns in each tire. In case you dont know what haw thorns are, they can be 1" to 12" long sometimes longer, and are hard, and grow on trees. Well actually it is a tree. With stock tires(4 ply) i was always getting flats, since the slime was added in 2003 i never got another flat. you could see all the thorns in the tires but they never went flat..it seals up to 1/4 inch hole.

Yep, know exactly what they are. Not unusual to come back from a ride and see a bunch of green spots on the tires. But they never go flat.

Yes, I know about Slime, I have used Berrymans Puncture Seal for decades in all of my trucks and I carry Plug Kits...

But I was wondering about such tech like Foam Filling, Tuffies, Flat Proof Tubes, Heavy Tred, a higher ply rating, or what???

The Stock tires never did impress me, but they do work, I just don't get that a person would own a Quad for 10 years and never get more that 350 miles on it...

I mean jeepers, I ride everyday and we use them as tools, at 55 let the quad do the work, not you back or your legs...

I showed this to a friend who is 65 and now he is in Hog Heaven, living in the hills is nice, as long as you have the right tools...

I can see where something like that would be nice, but also expensive. And while it may get you home, I'd be replacing that tire once I got there. So, to me it's an added expense.

Son of a Whitch!!!

Just got to LOVE THAT FLAT!!!

OK, so I know I have a Flat, sheetrock screw, OK so I pull that out and Plug the hole, and Slime it just for Grins and giggles. then I go for a ride...

It was good for about 45 min. then it was FLAT AGAIN, So I figure Valve stem, side wall, or Bead...

But it was also sputtering and kicking off on the worst of places, so I checked the air cleaner and it was off and full of dust...

When you buy a used Quad from a Geek, CHECK EVERYTHING before you ride it...

All I can say is They Walk Among Us...

The down side of RUN FLAT Tires is that once you get a hole in your tire, you need to replace it, because it can not be patched or plugged...

However I was told of blow up tube squares, as to working rather well...

Although I might be inclined to juuuust stick with a Zepplin and skip the entire ordeal...

I have slime in the old trail boss tires. And plugs. They hold air fine with the exception of the one with a good dent in the rim. Don't use it on the kfx, throws the balance of the tire off at higher speeds, and I notice it more on that one.
