Have a gorilla winch with synthetic rope comes with solid fairlead. Wouldn't a roller be better for the rope or no?

 

Yes. It will prolong the life of the rope. Any bur that forms on a solid fairlead can tear at your rope.

 

Some rollers seem to be recommended for synthetic, and some not. Maybe the gap/clearance between the rollers is tighter or something.

I dont' think it really matters as long as there is no burrs......Like jeffintd said, seems they recommend both, depending on the mfr.

 

Yeah, it would be a good idea to do the boat trailer roller thing, or something else, to keep the hook from slamming into the fairlhead- so as not to ding it up.

 

Hello Cban...I am new to the atv world....but have been around awhile...lol...I just purchased first atv...650 brute force and am looking into a winch....I saw the great deals on the gorillas over the costly warns....was wondering how do you like the gorilla and which one did you purchase? Well happy trails....

 

Just bought the winch. Haven't installed it. I bought it off of ebay big savings. Thanks for your input.
