Never been on a Big Bear but I love my Wolverine. Two things could make it better. Selectable 4x4 and a real clutch.

My opinion!!

It will scoot for a 4x4 and I haven't stuck it yet.
I'm 6' 215#'s and I can ride 2 comfortably and boy does the bike look sportier without the racks.

Bud, The Big Bear is more appropriate for your application, because you need the racks for hunting, and using around the farm. It is also good for trail riding. If I might add, I think for a guy your size, I would look for a bigger machine than 350cc. I think that you would find the Big Bear under powered, especially if its loaded up with gear and riding through hills.

If you like the automatic then the Kodiak would give you pleanty of speed, it will reach a top speed of 55 MPH. We raced the Grizzly against the Kodiak and the Kodiak stayed right even with it up to 30 MPH we ran out of room on a small road. If you need other information e-mail me. Good Luck!

Personally I would say the King Quad is a GREAT machine but I may be biased (grin).

You are probably biased, but you probably have experiences to back it up as well. You just don't see a lot of unsatisfied KQ owners.

For the person that said the Big Bear having a 350cc engine, unless you are going with an older model than the 2000, they are now 400cc. From what I have heard, the new Big Bear are far from being underpowered. It may be what you would want to go with. I also agree with the Kodiak. It seems like a pretty good bike and it is even better becasue it is automatic.

The 2000 big bear just got the old Kodiak engine. The 386cc four stroke. It got a lot of other upgrades though besides the engine. Actually, yamahas 350 engines are all a bit different. The banshee is a twin cylinder, and the warrior and wolverine engines do differ from the old big bear engine even though they are both 348cc 4 strokes.

Bud32 - I am 6' and 200lbs. I just bought the 2000 Big Bear 4x4. It has more than enough power, low end torque is great, handling is very predictable and sure. I have towed a buddy my size around the woods through creeks and up and down slopes of varying degrees, through mud and over logs. Not a problem with anything. I also opted for the Big Bear over the Kodiak because of the size difference, Big Bear is a little narrower and shorter which allows easier access in tight places. Glad I did, too.
Kodiak is an automatic and weighs a little less, but I like shifting - personal preference. Now if I try the automatic I'm afraid I may like it! Any one in Central Florida with an automatic Kodiak?

My uses for the machine are more for utility than sport, so I can't comment on the Wolverine.
