I'm looking to buy a new ATV. I want to know what is the "HUMMER" of ATVs? What can take me over and threw anything. I would also like it to have a little speed. I was thinking either the Scrambler 5004x4 or the Traxter 500. What do you think. I'm looking for any information possible. THanks

I think the 500 Rubicon maybe what you're looking for. But if you are looking for true 4 wheel drive the Suzuki 300 KQ has the locking front diff.

I have never seen a Traxter and don't have anything against it. But, it does weigh over 700 pounds stock. That is before afermarket wheels, tires, winch, skid plate, front and rear baskets (if you add them), floor boards, etc. If you ride in mud, more weight is not good. The Rubicon (I know it's not even due out until April or May) is under 600 pounds. So, you may want to consider that as one of the factors in your decision. Maybe not the most important or the deciding one, but just one.

Scrambler 500 sounds like what you want. There is nothing to compete with it. 4x4 or blazing speed, it has it all.

One thing to keep in mind is the Traxter is the most expensive utility atv out there it tops them all, another is theres no gas tank between your legs so aggressive riding would probably be limited also dealer support meaning if you out riding a different part of the country and your quad breaks the likley hood of finding someone with parts or someone who even knows how to work on them weird engines is not likely.I say stick with whoever is most reliable and has the most dealerships throughout the U.S.A

I think the Hummer is the "Hummer" atvs. I would consider it an atv.

But seriously, I think the Sportsman 500 is the "Hummer" atvs. why?
1.) it has independent suspension Front and rear, like the Hummer
2.) it has the factoy most ground clearance, like the Hummer
3.) there ain't many things that will pass where aSp 500 can't, like the Hummer

As far as the Traxter being sporty, get real. Have you ever seen, much les rode one of theose things. They are huge!!!!! They feel uncomfortably wide.

I think you should get a Max, wait, you said you need speed, never mind. I think the one limitation the Polaris quads have is the water getting into the belt drive system. True, you're not always gonna have problems with a wet belt, but if you get a machine that does, then you're gonna want to stay away from the mud/water. I would also agree that the Rubicon could be a real good machine in the mud, and it should go pretty fast. It really depends. Do you want a utility machine? Do you need racks and do you need to tow something?
