Default Attended the ATV RiderCourse!

Hubby and I both attended. Got 2 -$100. checks in the mail (they come from the manufacturer). The contact number for ATV Safety Institute is (800) 887-2887. Their web site is www.atvsafety.org
Honda gives 100., Bombardier gives 100., there is one who doesn't participate, but I can't remember which one it was. I believe you had to be 18 for Arctic Cat. One of the other ones gives $50. Anyway - an easy way to make 25. an hour!!

I'm signed up for Nov 17th, and I had to make a huge decision:

A. Go to work for six hours and earn $54 after the government gets theres.

OR

B. Go have fun with my new toy, and earn $100 that the government can't touch!

The last one I did only lasted 2 hours. So I made $50 an hour the last time.

Default Attended the ATV RiderCourse!

I took the RiderCourse earlier this year after buying the Suzuki and got the $100. Also took it with the wife in '98 after buying the Banshee. Polaris is the only mfg not paying for and supporting the course. I thought it would be a good thing to make some extra cash and become an Instructor, so I applied and was accepted. The Instructor training class is 3 days of B.S. and I dropped out the second day. The Chief instructor was an ATV **** and was totally by the book.

The problem I had with the program was that the manual and training program was totally developed by the CSPSC and was total government crap. As I went through the instructor training, I felt like they were teaching people to ride in an unsafe manner, to the point that I would never teach someone to ride like that.

The 2 classes that I took as a student were good experiences and worth the $100 cash back, but it is overly elementary for most. The biggest problem I see is that most people have their quad for a month or so before attending the training. Nobody is going to buy a new quad and wait that long to ride it.

So now the question has to be...why is Polaris the only manufacturer not participating in this program. It seems odd since Polaris is popular amongst quad riders and it seems as if this would just be one more way of them getting some new business??

Does anyone have any ideas?

Isn't that the truth!!!! I can't imagine either buying a new quad and letting it sit for a month or so to before taking the riding course.

I don't even want to put it in the truck to take home. I want to leave the dealership on the new machine.
