Default ramsey winch?

Does anyone know how well the ramseys are? Or should I just spend the extra $ on a warn?

I have one and really like it. They have a warranty that can't be beat. LIFETIME. I had to send one in I sheared the gears. They said they don't se that happen to often. Any way they sent me a brad new one they have a exalant service department. Any way here is where I ordered mine they have both winches and free shipping C and S sales They also have the wireless remote which is real nice to have at times.

Thanks monte, can you tell me how long you've had it? I've compared the ramseys with the warns and it looks like a coin flip between the ywo so far.

I've had mine almost a year now and a friend just go tone for Christmas. The remote system sells for $200 dollars alone if you where to put it on a WARN though it also has a faster no load spool speed and a lowere current draw under loads than WARN. Just compare the the charts at different LBS loads and the Ramsey is always less.

Fadman,
I have no experience with Ramsey ATV winches, but our fleet started switching from Warn to Ramsey (8000 and 10,000 lb) on our 4x4 trucks. Since then We have had nothing but trouble with the Ramsey winches. Faulty remotes, seized freewheels, broken fittings, and just overall poor quality and performance. I finally got so fed up I took the new Ramsey off my Ford and swapped it for a 8 year old Warn from a truck we were getting rid of. The old Warn has seen plenty of abuse but still works like new.
When I'm alone miles from nowhere and sunk up to the doors, I don't want to to be wondering what's going to break on the Ramsey this time. I've owned Warn 1500, 2000, and 2500 winches on quads and have had no problems.
If you like gadgets, maybe Ramsey's wireless remote appeals to you. If you need a good winch, I recommend Warn.

Rule #3300 is the best winch hands down. It is built stronger and the company stands behind them .. But they are heavier and a little bigger. I have 1 and it won't fit behind the bumper on my 500i. That means I have one for sale .. It was just redone by Rule they put a new motor and went over the whole thing.. I haven't used it since it was redone .. I will also have a WARN #2500 for sale at the end of the week, This is brand new in the box .. Let me know if interested in either zrt1000@ptd.net...Bill
