What advantages do each winch have over the others, if any. Going to get one for our Rubicon.

i have had the warn a2500 and the rule 3300 on my rubicon. i like the rule much more but the mounting hardware puts the winch outfront a pretty good bit. unless you do a lot of straight up and downs you should have no problems. i like the look it gives but thats me. the warn winch had a roar to it while the rule can just barely be heard over the motor at idle. the warn fits up in under the area where the radiator is and can be aggivating when dealing with. the rule is right where you can reach it and the freespool is easier to deal with. hope this helps some

Specta, get the ramsey 2500 w/remote control(real sweet) control it uses less amps and weighs less than a warn...and get a multi-mount so you can go f/r and take it off when you don't need it i had 1 and sold it the extra 45lbs or so takes the handling out for sure and i relly did'nt use it hardly enough to justify the $ i bought a pro-flo clamp on filter with the $,but they are very handy, everybody i ride with has them so they can pull if someone needs a "tow truck"!

hey specta check out aluminumproducts.com i bought a ramsey 2500 with remote for my rubicon love it the remote is great already have gone fishing for praires and grizzlys in some ponds and mudholes. i think i paid $5oo or 600 but that was for the winch, winch mount, roller fairlead, hook holster, winch guard, a-arm guards, and a one piece skid plate. sounds like alot but the winch is great, its a little faster than warn and the mount guard keeps the fairlead flat not on an angle like most mounts u see. this mount actually hangs the winch upside down, bolts to a plate which gets u-bolted upside down behind the brush guard. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

I suggest you look at the Superwinch 3000. It requires less amps than the Warn 2500 (36% less),
it has over 20% more horsepower, and it has a lower gear ratio than the Warn 2500.

If Superwinch is not exactly your "cup of tea", why not try the Warn 3000.

As for mounting accessability, you have a variety of choices out there. If you want it "stuck out it front",
you could always opt for the Warn Multi-mount system. And of course, there are the MANY "under the
front" type mounts out there that place the winch behind the headlights.

The Warn A2000 is no longer an option as it is no longer manufactured. That is why I didn't include it.
As for the Rule and Ramsey winches, both are quality products but a bit more pricey than the Warn and
Superwinch. Therefore, I did not include them. I think the Superwinch 3000 and Warn 3000 are your
best bets because of price and performance. I hope this helps you out. Let us know what you decide.
