i was winching today with my tusk winch and realized that i bent the **** you pull out to cause the winch to free wheel. actually it is the shaft the **** is connected to. i am kinda curious how i did that. still works fine though. i wonder if i can get it fixed somehow? oh well not bad for a $109 winch.

Maybe it wasn't locked in all the way?

My .02....The Tusk is a pretty decent winch...especially for the $$. I used mine on the front of my P650 for a while before replacing it with the ATV3000. Now the Tusk is mounted to the rear, and performs great. Just remember to invest in a ****** block for a little extra insurance on the Tusk.
In case you are wondering why I replaced the Tusk with the Superwinch in the fist place...I traded a set of Mudzillas for the Superwinch.

I e-mailed Superwinch and they said they don't use that switch anymore. They stated that they now have a better waterproof switch.

so far i have not had any problems with mine except for slightly bending the **** on the end of the winch used for free spooling. just make sure it is locked in all the way before winching. but other than that it works great. it isn't as good as a warn but if your funds are limited than it is something to consider.

i have been thru water and mud almost up to the head lights. i have winched my quad up a steep hill covered with about 2 feet of wet snow for like 2 minutes non stop and did not have any problems. if the hill was a little bit steeper i think i would have stalled out the winch. but not bad for $109
