Not to sure what tires come with it but like all stock tires they will be thin (2 ply) and will gumm up in the mud untill you getthe tire speed up to clean them. Consider when you can to get a tire better suited for your use.

I purchased a 00 Big Bear about 6 months ago and Im already looking to get some new tires. The BB comes with Maxxis tires they do pretty well in the mud and on trails but not like aftermarket tires. Also if you do not like the stock tires, see if your local dealership will put some aftermarket tires on there and add the price of the tires to the quad. Some riders have done this around here, it might not save you money but in about 6 months you won't be wanting new tires.

For the most part, all stock tires suck. Probably the best stockers available on any quad are the Titan 489's. Provided though, stock tires will do fine for a while, and I have never seen the point in not using them for the better part of their tread life. I would at least wear them down pretty good, and then upgrade. You would basically just be losing money by changing out a brand new set of tires for aftermarkets. UNLESS, however, you get aftermarket wheels and tires, thus giving you two different interchangeable sets to use in different conditions. A lot of people go that route, and its a pretty good idea. That way, you won't wear out expensive mud tires just tooling around on pavement or hardpack, and you also have major traction at your disposal for trips to the woods or mudpits.

well all me and my dad was going to do was take it into a swamp and get rid of a damn that is backing water up onto our property. he says that we dont need to change out the stock tires, but i told him all stock tires normally sucks and he didnt belive me, he said the stock tires would be good enough for what we are doing . so i think i better show him this forum thread and let him see what other people say about the Big Bear 400 4x4 stock tires.
