First Bike Homecoming

First Bike Homecoming
Back in 1986, I got a 1985 Suzuki DS 80 for my 14th birthday. It was my first dirt bike, and I loved it. My neighbor Shawn and I rode it all the way till I graduated from high school, knees hitting the handlebars and everything. I finally sold it to Shawn's little cousin that year, who was probably 12 at the time. About 30 seconds after I sold it I regretted it, but it was too late, and besides, his cousin really wanted it.
Well, I moved 350 miles away, and twenty years went by. Then, this winter, I ran into Shawn while I was home. I asked him about the bike, and he said his cousin still has it. He asked him if he'd sell it back, and he says he will. So after 26 years, I'm finally getting my bike back. I know I'm too big for it, and my son's too small for it (he has a Fourtrax 70), but he'll be ready for it in a few years. I figure it's going to take some work, I don't even know if it runs. But that's okay.
I know we've all experienced seller's remorse. But how many of us get to take it back? And on your very first bike? It's like a dream come true.
