I live in Franklin and have not found anyplace nearby. I have riden at Westpoint, which is free and decent. I've heard that Wheelin' in the Country in Summertown is okay, however, it appears to be more for the 4x4's (Jeeps). The supposed best place, I have not yet been, is Windrock ATV in Oliver Springs, near Oak Ridge (72,000 acres). Another place that is not too far is Turkey Bay over at Land Between the Lakes. I've just begun riding myself and am trying to accumulate a list of places. If you would like I could email the list I've accumulated. bsmith@communitycareinc.com

Yes, Windrock is the best place. I've been there 16 times since last April. We come down from Michigan to ride there. It's WELL worth the trip.

A new riding area in west KY, about 30 min north east of LBL is Paddy's Bluff Retreat. It's in Dycusburg,ky about 15~20 miles from exit 40 off I-24 interstate. 600 acres by the Cumberland river, alot of hills, slews/river bottoms, wide trails, the owner is building a moto-cross track and a flat track. It's $10 a day- it's privately owned so there's not many rule , byob it's a dry county. The powerline hills are killer for wide open riding. This place is about 2~2.5 hours from Nashville.

Well, we didnt go to Linton this weekend, my brother called a friend who said it was very very muddy up there so we ended up going to Turkey Bay, in LBL (cost $15.00 for 3day pass or $45.00 for a Year) it was prety nice a bunch of hills, and trails, 4-wheelers, motorcycles, rail/dune buggies, and a few jeeps riding around. we were there from about 9am till 5pm

Directions to Linton KY
From Nahsville
Take I 24 towards Clarksville
once you get into Ky and pass the welcome center,
you will pass the Ft Campbell/Hopkinsville Exit ( I think it was exit 86)
take the 1st exit after that exit which should be exit 73
turn left at the stop sign at the off ramp
go under the interstate,
at the next stop sign make a right, go 13 or 14 miles

road will dead end at a boat ramp/dock

parking for the trails will be on the left befor you get to the ramp.

we were there this past Sat, they were a bit muddy and alot of trees were down

Hello All,

A little share for those who will be kind to the rescource. In Grundy Co try Bryants / Sequatchie Cove. Park at Grundy lakes <N35.27178 W85.71164>
and turn to gravel rd at <N35.24697 W85.65877>. Enter the cove at <N35.24353 W85.62744> Nice smooth ride to the bottom. From then on its the ride to hell. This is the most fun you can have with your pants on. Totally UN - civilized! Open ride ruled by common sense and courtesy. Not for the newby or faint hearted but more surprises than you can count. Outlaw riding at its best. This a very popular spot and i would love to hear from others who have tried it. Most go north at the bottom to a church and beyond <N35.28191 W85.63688> but the ride south is breathtaking albiet rocky. Ride to
<N35.19387 W85.59789> and you will be in love. YOu will need ALL day. It just gets better and better.
