A local ride would be nice to put together. Driving 3 hours to go ride pretty much sucks. 1 hr up the hill wouldn't be bad though.

I prefer a more milder ride as I'm still a beginner (6 mos.). This weekend is probably bad for me. The week after may be a Pismo trip.

We will all have to get together and take a ride sometime.

I usually ride Hollister (Favorite), Pismo, Hungry Valley (HUGE! it'd rank higher if they smoothed out the trails!)

Hollister was good this weekend. A bit rough compared to February. All kinds of people in camp...not sure where they were riding though. RARELY ever saw people on the trails. If you like track riding they just redid the ATV track there. More turns and more jumps. And they know how to make jumps...you take off and joast soar through the air. Not these things people seem to make around here that throw you around.

It's not too many idiots, it's too many people in general. And the drive back SUCKS! I hate the 5 mile backup (not sure if that's how long it is but it's about a 30 min wait) at Reef City (41 & 33 I think).

It looks like I'm heading to Pismo the weekend of the 26th. I'll post more when I know more.

Surfus are the trails pretty nice there that you guys ride? I've heard differing stories about Miami. And that looks like a nasty rut or was it a ditch in that video. But the trails looked nice.

Its pretty rutted up there, but it adds to the chalenge... Most of the easyer trails i went on were not bad at all.. Its only when you get to the harder trails that the ruts can hurt ya... But alot of the trails were not rutted that bad..Only in spots

Yes the trails are hard to find and they are not maintained very well but there are a lot of them. Miami is bordering Yosemite so most of the time you are in the trees. The temp is usually 20 deg less than Oakhurst.

If you want a trail that is 25 feet wide and smooth and boring you can stay on the 60 miles of Forest Service roads. This is what my wife Prefers, She does not like the Trails.
