SWFTBALZ - we'd talked about it several times actually in complaints but the feeling are mutual with every one so it was time to take action and well you can see what a group of determined riders can accomlpish .

Have you talked to or posted any questions to the contacts you have posted ? If not we need to have our Ducks in a row and look as proper as we can ,all questions should be thoughtfully tacted and we should be able to get some swift information .

I was not able to open it on this computer but I did open it on another one....I am a Mortgage Banker and in our building we also have a guy that works for Noles Frye.....He handles all of Roy O' Martins land sales, they have land all over Louisiana that they are selling very cheap, wihtout timber rights.....I will check with them to see what they have....How many acres do you think we need?....We could always start small and pay cash for it then when we build up an account we could go a little bigger, the small land for now would just give us a place to go for now..None of this land will have sand but it would be okay until we raise some money...Any objections?

Shannon, not sure how everyone else feels about the new riding area. But, I think we are looking for something with sand similar to La. Dunes. Sand, trails, and maybe a river or creek.

Couldn't hurt to check with him. Maybe he has something like what we are looking for.

I know what you mean...I feel the same way about the sand...I am looking at all the plot maps right now to see if there is anything on a river.

No objections here Shaun, anyplace is better than nothing! We just all need to keep our eyes open and see what we can find and all agree on.

Spent most of the morning talking with insurance agencies. Most of the big name agencies wont cover this type of insurance. State Farm and Allstate said they dont do liablity insurance. There are a couple of companies in Lake Charles that do. The first needs more details on what type of things specifically we plan on doing. Its fairly easy to get insurance for a Hunting club, But when you throw in that we like to ride atvs, they tend to get scared.

So what I need from everyone so that I can talk to the insurance companies, Is what do we exactly plan on using the land for?

Are we going to keep it private for members and friends only?
Or are we going to make it public and charge people for riding like La Dunes.

One of the companies does insurance for Possum Cove ( a race track for dirt bikes and four wheelers), here in the Lake Charles Area.
So this is going to be one of our best bets for Insurance Purposes from around here.

What does everyone think the outlook for this area will be private or public?

I would think that a private club would be cheaper on insurance, I could be wrong though and I have to do some more checking on that too. The only problem with a public area is that it would have to be monitored by us constantly to ensure all rules are followed, like no one riding without gear and drinking while riding, etc. Those are the types of things that can put an abrupt halt to everything we're working for. Let me know what ya'll think, but I would say private to start out and see how it goes from there.

I agree for now the best thing to do would be to make a private clu with guest....Truthfully It will take a year before we could handle the insurance on anything else.
