Default Areas near Phoenix, AZ?

My brother is out in Phoenix for two weeks training for his new job and is looking for something good to do over the weekend. Are there any places somewhat near the city that he could drive to and watch some riding (we're from New York and curious about dune riding)? Thanks in advance. *Winter Rules*

I agree with the last person to post . . . way TOO HOT to ride during the day, unless it's very very very early a.m. (watch for snakes - the sidewinders are pretty fast) or at night or up in the mountains. However, there is a dirt bike/ATV track near Queen Creek/Chandler area. It's about 40 minutes south east of downtown Phoenix. They have night time races and most likely night time practice runs. It's a huge track with four different practice areas. You can probaly call any bike shop out there and they can give the exact name, address and phone number of the track. It's a fairly new facility (about 1 year old). I was there last fall for some motocross races. I know the track has put flyers at a bike shop called Town & County Motorsports in the Mesa/Chandler area, they should be able to get him the info.
