Where are the places to ride in NC? I am mainly interested in fire roads and trails. Some MX is ok but I want open space. Thanks.

Barely legal, The places I've found around here so far is Brown Mtn.(Near Morganton, NC), Uwharries state park(western side of state), and Manchester, SC(about 2hr. from Charlotte), and Brushy mtn.(I haven't been there yet, but its also near morganton) We have a couple "local" places to ride, but the legistics of the area is question able. I also know a fellow that knows of a sand pit near pineville, nc.

we used to ride the 485 loop which is under construction,,,,we had 17 miles between Lawyers road exit and Hwy 49. It was close to home for me. They may be done with this section of road by now.
