Well, time to shove off, hope everybody has a fun and safe weekend. Now we're taking the tent, I still like sleeping in the bronco, especially when the back seat is taken out, nice and cozy, of course not as comfy as a motorhome

Neat pictures, Karl! Michael would love to do a flight like that - you do get the cool dad award for the week.
We are getting ready to head down to Horsfall - we can't leave until Friday night, after Josh gets off work. We'll be there really really early Saturday morning - a long drive for a short ride, but TOTALLY worth it. I got some light weights and am trying to strengthen my wrist - it is so week after a coupla months in a cast grrr

Raptorchick or Dual-Sporter,
We're thinking about heading to Horn Rapids Nov 7th for the Harescramble.
What can you tell me about it?
Fun or not? Tips?

Hi Marci,
How's it going?
Personally, Horn Rapids is one of my favorite places to ride. It's awesome, but it will be COLD in November. Get hand guards for your quad if you can, and some heavy gloves.
The race is an Iron Man type race. The GP track is an 11 mile loop of natural whoops (like the whoop roads at the dunes) and is wide enough for one quad with areas to pass. That part of the course is sandy, but paddles aren't needed. It also incorporates the main MX track and the drag strip. The race will run about 3-4 laps, so about 40 miles total. The whoops can really get to you after a while, if you have a kidney belt, use it. I got to ride the main MX track the last time I was there and it was awesome! For the most part, it is a high speed track and there isn't really any "do or die" type stuff. Once the lips of the jumps wear down a bit, watch out for kickers or you'll end up doing a nasty endo. I would recommend running 18's on the back and going up one tooth on the front sprocket. That's the set up I was using the last time I was there and it worked really well.
I'm not going to make this one though. I think I'm going to be down at the races in Woodland that weekend.
