Old PSAR thread - please see the new one
RidinLCWA; You should hear what he has to say about the Demos. They told him they wouldn't support him during the next election and his response was "So the people of my district have be voting for me in better numbers than anyone you can name and that because I do what's best for them and not the party". He also really hates how Mason county is run and wants to change it. I know of at least 3 people in fear of their jobs. Tim has lived here a long time and they screwed around with him recently on some premits he applied for. Real stupid if you ask me. I couldn't do what Tim does, I would get real bent out of shape and get crazy and take a rifle up high somewheres.......... We will just let the rest go unsaid, but it would probaly make for a better government in Olympia. I think I would like to meet you. I will be in Chehalis on tuesday getting my new 400 serviced. Is there a chance we could meet?
Welcome to the thread Bear4570, It's a good place to hang out and catch up with some of us for a ride; or if ya don't mind company on your rides just ask........

Thurston County also recently issued a draft noise ordinance that would shut down the operation of most ORVs. The ordinance makes it illegal for noice to be above the decibel level of normal conversation, 55-decibels. This ordinance includes private property.
This is why I live in Lewis County. We don't have to worry about monorails, noise ordinances or other goofy stuff. Heck, we just two years ago required burning permits for the first time (no charge for them though).

Actually the staging area we were at last time is about TWO MILES past the first gravel staging area. On the left after the winding part of the road. Don't turn left at the first gravel road past the first staging area, it will not get you where you want to be.

Who knows!! Thurston County sent a letter to the state in February with many demands. If there demands are not met in full, they will not operate the park. The Interagency Committee for Outdoor Recreation members and staff have met with Thurston County several times this year. The latest meeting in November ended in a stalement. The State has now filed legal action against Thurston County and asked for declaratory judgement that the County is in violation of the terms of the previous state grants they received for the operation of the park. If the County loses, they would have to pay back about $4.43 million that they have received since 1978.
