Sean, the additive your talking about can be purchased @ your local Ford dealership. It needs to be done every 10k. It stops electrolysis in the cooling system.......

The coolant in these things takes a special additive that most don't know about, the guy I bought it from didn't. So hopefully I can overcome that and limit whatever damage may have been done.
Lot's of work ahead, but I love the truck

Also, The cooling system on any diesel has special concerns. It's possible for the coolant to cavitate --produce tiny bubbles--that can with time cause pinholes through the cylinder walls from the water jackets. There is also an additive, FW16 or DCA4 to keep a proper SCA level. the SCA level should be between 1.5 and 3.0. It is very important for stopping cavitation. You can get test strips to check the SCA level from NAPA, International, or Ford. Generally this means installing 8 to 10 oz of the additive to the cooling system every 15000 miles. They also make coolant that already has this additive in it at the right level.
Let the fun begin..................
Cle Elum Riders,
Getting on the quads at 11:30 is alittle late, if we can't leave earlier, I agree with Skllz, the extra hour of drive time to the mountains really cuts into our daylight, but then my headlights work great Lets just cross that bridge when we get to it. Sean, just work on getting off earlier. By the way, it's looking like great weather for this ride.
Come to think of it, it took us 2 hrs to get to Walker Valley and we only rode 3 hrs, so if we only ride 4 hrs, so be it. Heck Bing drove from Shoreline to Capitol Forest for a 1.5 hr ride, the length of the ride is not important, it's time spent with friends doing what you love that's important.
Bottom line, I can ride logging roads on this side on the mountains, for that distance of travel, I want nasty trails

I'm with Happa on this. I'd rather ride 2 hours in the nasty technical snow than 3 hours on logging roads, even with snow as I can do that here. Half the time I can even find snow if I really go looking. I'd really like to HAVE to use the 4 wheel drive for once, Maybe even the locker, not just because I want to but have to.

What brand and model of digital camera do you have? Which brand and model would you suggest looking at? I'm in the market and would like some opinions. Would like to keep price below $600, also would like movie option.
Thanks,
Larry
