You need to PM Dazeys, he rides Walker Valley every Sunday, he lives up in Arlington, he's the guide you want and is a great riding partner

Did anybody else see the Op-Ed in the Olympian today.

http://www.theolympian.com/home/news...on/45340.shtml

My question is did the Thurston County Commission hold any public hearings on this issue before deciding what to do and if not, why not? Also we ought to hammer the Olympian with e-mails and phone calls about this.

OK, Last year about this time a large group met at "the Place" before a ride at Rock Candy, I came down for breakfast (I couldn't ride that day) and fun was had by all!!

Somewhere along the way, Happa ducked into the bathroom and crawled out the window and Some accuse him of not paying for his breakfast! Some accuse me of the same thing! I don't know why!..... I think it was a set-up to get us in trouble,

anyway, Don't let HAP go to the bathroom after he's finished his breakfast!!

Again, this is why I live in Lewis County. It sounds like there have been public hearings. The problem is that 2 out of the 3 County Commissioners are dead set against the park (I suspect are against even the idea of ORV in general). The state is in the right. The county gladly accepted the state money and signed the contracts guaranteeing to keep the park open. The county unilaterally broke the contract. Only after closing the park and under threat from the state, did the county begin to negotiate with the state. It's been two years and no progress.

Read the associated article: http://www.theolympian.com/home/news...es/42056.shtml

I suspect the issue is not liability or cost of operations. Commissioner Cathy Wolfe (D), a former legislator, stated "I don't think we should be in the ORV park business." Remember the county's politics are dominated by Olympia/Lacey/Tumwater. On this issue it is convenient to listen to a few rural naysayers and claim they are looking after the little guy. Really, it is an anti-ORV agenda. This issue must also be viewed in light of the recent noise ordinance issue. They are trying to stop the use of any ORV (quad, motorcycle, Jeep, truck).
