Come on gang, who's gonna take Ron riding on Sunday? Are you joining us for the Capitol Forest ride Saturday the 11th? You need to get someone to show you Reiter Sunday, closer than Walker and some nice huge water crossings, logs and boulders galore. We just need to find you a guide and time's getting short
If he can't find somebody to ride with on Sunday, I think that would be the first time in the history of this thread that nobody could be shamed into going riding with somebody

I'm sure somebody will pull out a ride at the last minute. We pride ourselves on saying anyday somebody wants to go riding, sombeody will be able to go.

I'm holding out hope for ya WHEELIN, somebody will come through for ya

OH MAN,

Saturday is looking bleaker and bleaker for me.
I really need that truck, no, I really want that truck
No truck, no ride Saturday.
I know Happa has offered to come get me, but it's a bit out of the way (about 1/2 hour) and I don't get off work until 7:00.
I'm determined to get there, even if I have bring the ol' mini-van
I'm not proud, as long as it gets me there, LMAO, hehehe

Good thing he's a friend of mine. I know I'll get it soon, but I think he's gonna miss the poor thing and is having a hard time giving it up. His wife told him to **** or get off the pot, RFLMAO
I'm gonna have to go over and kidnap it or something.
I'm going to pick up the papers tomorrow, and try to meet up with him sometime soon so he can sign them. Then I can get the Credit Union to cut him a check.

aaaaagggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh....... I want in NOWWWWWWWWWWW

Yesterday i went to the doc again for a check up on my hand. I paid $15 for him to tell me the nurosurgeon wants to wait another week. If its still bothering you we will do a bone marrow. I wish it would just hurry up and heal so i can ride and do stuff around the house!

Am I to assume they sell maps of Reiter?

They're free and they're not real detailed. I have one that a friend made with his GPS. Reiter doesn't really have enough trails to get lost like Tahuya or Capitol. Most all trails at Reiter head up away from the staging areas and are dead ends. Therefore you have to back track on the trails and they take you back to the staging areas. There are a few side trails and loops but it would be very difficult to get lost up there.

Couple of random thoughts today. After the last few rides, my riding clothes have gotten pretty muddy. After a wash they still had that dirt tint to them, especially my coat. The last ride at Tahuya was particularly muddy thanks to my rapid speed and the rather substantive mud holes. Oh, and there was the time I flew off the quad and skidded across the dirt on my back. It's amazing how much mud and water can fly when you hit the water going really fast. So after Tahuya, I decided to throw some OxyClean in with the wash. WOW My coat looks brand new. We've used the stuff around the house, but I had no idea how well it worked in the laundry. So, I should look nice and clean for Capitol Forest.

Speaking of Capitol Forest, I was getting my quad ready last night for the big ride on Saturday. I put my new rack bag and tank bag on. Very easy and all went well. I've been dissapointed in how my current grips perform -- can you say blisters. So I bought some Spider gel grips -- cushy, durable, sheds water, etc. It seemed like a good idea. Well I cut my old grips off and go to put the new ones on. I put the glue/lubricant in a bead around the handle bar and slide the grip on. Then, I attempted to slide the grip on. Yes attempted. It turns out the grip is about 2 sizes smaller in diameter than my handlebars. I start pushing the grip on. It's tough, but I get it about halfway. Then it won't budge. I push harder. It won't budge. Now, I'm worried. There's no turning back or I would be riding with bare bars. It took every ounce of strength in my hands, arms, back and legs to get the darn grip all the way on the bar! After about 30 or 40 minutes of grunting, struggling and close to cussing, It was on. My wife thought I was dying in the garage. She had to check on me to make sure I was alright. That was just the first grip. The second was no picnic either.

I hope these darn things work, because I do not want to go through this exercise again any time soon!!!!!

I noticed on the NW Quad Riders site that they had planned a trip to East Fort Rock OHV area in Oregon. Has anyone been there and what are your thoughts about the place?
