Old PSAR thread - please see the new one
Doesn't look like there will be any snow for the Capitol ride this saturday. The man(weather type, been known to be wrong) just said by saturday the freezing level will be 7500 feet. Right now it's at 3000 feet. So just mud, but no dust looks like.

It sure would be fun if it were white that day.

I am up for a future Capitol Forest ride so I will watch the thread. That area sounds fun! I hope you guys have a great time Saturday.
As for Sunday the 12th: I am going to go to Reiter as it is closer. If anyone makes it up there look for me. I will be in a big silver Ford Super Duty with 4WheelingPlus.com stickers all over it. On the trail I will be on a black Grizzly with a Warn winch on front. I will be in all black clothing with a red/white helmet.
I know... Black ATV, Black clothing with a Red & White helmet??? I bought the helmet to match my XR650L... then I bought the black Grizzly, then the black clothing. Something like that.

Reiter will have snow until spring,,,,,its just a matter of whether its too deep to drive a quad thru. I would guess the top of reiter will be unreachable pretty soon.

I've been dissapointed in how my current grips perform -- can you say blisters. So I bought some Spider gel grips -- cushy, durable, sheds water, etc. It seemed like a good idea. Well I cut my old grips off and go to put the new ones on. I put the glue/lubricant in a bead around the handle bar and slide the grip on. Then, I attempted to slide the grip on. Yes attempted. It turns out the grip is about 2 sizes smaller in diameter than my handlebars. I start pushing the grip on. It's tough, but I get it about halfway. Then it won't budge. I push harder. It won't budge. Now, I'm worried. There's no turning back or I would be riding with bare bars. It took every ounce of strength in my hands, arms, back and legs to get the darn grip all the way on the bar! After about 30 or 40 minutes of grunting, struggling and close to cussing, It was on. My wife thought I was dying in the garage. She had to check on me to make sure I was alright. That was just the first grip. The second was no picnic either.
I hope these darn things work, because I do not want to go through this exercise again any time soon!!!!!

I made certain I had the right one on the throttle and the left one on the left side... still took me forever to get them on.

So if my quad starts pulling in one direction, I can blame the grips?

There is a left & a right for the motorcycle versions since the motorcycles have the twist throttle instead of that silly thumb thingy they put on the quads.
RidinLCWA you had me ROFLMAO!!!! That grip story is a good one My son has figured out it's easier if you put the glue IN THE GRIP then it slides on easier but doesn't sound like it would of work for you anyway LOL We just started using WHITEKNUCKLE grips they are out of Monroe & have different compounds ie soft, medium ATV grips in fact we are the FIRST people to test them out they didnt' even have them in the packages yet when we went & picked them up!! DJ seems to really like them, he's running them on my quad & his blaster. I haven't got to try them on a ride yet but they seem like very nice grips!! Thier website www.whiteknucklegrips.com if you EVER want to check them out!
Well looks like the damage on the 300 from last weekend is minimul.....................whew.................. ............the axle nut came loose & we thought the chain broke but it was just the master link, looks like it MAY have tweaked the sprocket but I'm not sure if so we have another. So guess we throw the chain back on & raise the rear end up so we quit having issues!! So it'll be back on the track tomarrow night MAYBE I'll get to ride it LOL
