It's all first-come first-serve from October 1st through the end of April. We leave Wednesday or Thursday after work and return Sunday, get 2-3 days of hard riding in...
I think they is all reserve all year round now Karl... or is that just Driftwood? hmmm.... I agree with for dune trails you can't bead horsefall to spinning reel. there is just every kinda terrain there. and toooooons of trails.

I think you're right. I haven't paid too close attention to the changes this year. I went to the reserveamerica website and it said Horsfall is reservable all year, but didn't say anything about the time of year for reservations at the Spinreel campground. Horsfall Beach isn't mentioned, so it may still be first-come first-serve.

OFC; I need a mechanic too. But not because I'm lazy, but the hands don't work all that well anymore.

When we were down at Florence in April and again in July there was a letter on the bulliten board that said all 4 National Forest campgrouns (Driftwood II, Spinreel, Horsfal and Horsfal Beach) would now be 365 days a year reservable. Every site is now $20.00 instead of $17.00 but there is no charge for an extra vehicle. I believe you can reserve the spots up to 280 days in advance.

Also don't forget, after Sept. 30th you can ride directly from Jesse Honeyman State Park until April 30th.

I just got done looking at Driftwood for Oct 14,15, and 16th. Jim had mentioned those dates as being good for him. And with berta's upcoming surgery, she cant ride till then anyway. Im wondering if the reservations for Driftwood change after a certain date. Because as of right now It shows ALL spots as available. I find that a bit odd. Do they not let you reserve after a certain date? Also, Like Rod said, Honeyman, is much nicer and we can ride from there. Hey Rod, How far to the dunes from Honeyman?

Im going to also look at historic weather facts to see if that late in the year is still nice.
