Good Morning...

I'm just curious, what does everyone pay for their quads for insurance?
$65.00 per yer, per quad. Full coverage, no deductable. Progressive Insurance.
I've asked you this before, and am still amazed at this number. You have to find out for us why it is that you are able to get it so cheap!! I have contacted at least three companies, and all are looking at around $15- $25 per quad per month! Is it because you are a member of HRC? Do you use Progressive for your home/auto as well? Give us the inside scoop, mister!!!!!
This is because you are not old. Ask your Progressive agent what the age limit is on cheap insurance. My Farmer's Insurance agent in Lake Stevens (Frontier Village) also sells Progressive insurance, I get a cheap rate too. They paid to re-build my 03 when it went skipping across the water, no questions asked... well ok, one... wtf did you do?

I hate to say this but my quad is not insured. I have been looking into it for awhile and finally called my insurance company, who is progressive. I have two claims on my insurance where i don't know where they came from and they couldn't tell me either. The reason that i called is because my auto insurance went up instead of down when i turned 25. So while i was on the phone i asked him to give me a quote on my quad. $269, for a yr, which would be 22.41 a month. That is not full coverage. I can't remember what he told me, alls i remember is liability and comp.
Hey don't feel bad. A lot of people don't insure them. It's a good idea, but it can be expensive. (granted there's no argument for losing a quad (w/no insurance), and still having to pay for it!) We've looked into it several times, but still have no coverage. I did some research today online.

Progressive quoted me $331.00 a year for 2 quads (predator, 450R). Without the HRC discount....and get this with the HRC discount, I can take a whoppen $3 off the $331! lol BIG discounts there.

ATVINS.com quoted me $433 a year for the same quads.

Rod ya gotta give us the scoop!!!!!

Okay, so I just went back to the online quote....changed our birthdates to reflect OLD (50 years). The quote went from $331 to $190 for the same 2 quads.....

What an eye opener. Wonder if they will give us a discount for good grades????

Old enough to only pay $66 a year for full coverage per quad . But bear in mind DM, qualified for good insurance rates before I did.... (had to get that in there...).

i have never insured a quad (not that i didn't try)

i tried like heck to insure quads back in the 90's (when they werent paid for) and i got laughed at by all the insurance companies

"quads?? whats a quad?? We don't ensure ATV's,,,,,good luck"

Insuring quads is a new thing for underwriters. They are still trying to figure the market out.

Sounds like Rod is Grandfathered in from the pioneer atv insurance days.

I have checked through the insurance agent that carries my home owners, auto and RV and she quoted me through Foremost at something like $200 for the one quad, HOWEVER, she came back and told me because I don't technically have a building they stay in Foremost wouldn't insure them. They don't consider a trailer(enclosed, lockable like a quad trailer)good enough because it has wheels.
Called the agent that insures my horse trailer(Foremost), and they quoted me roughly the same price, but didn't even ask where they were stored-didn't care. They did, however want to check my credit before insuring them. Hmmmmmm....
Currently haven't bothered because of that hassle. I was thinking of trying again in light of the recent experiences of the group. Big dogs(ok, REALLY BIG dogs, in my case) and guns are not always a deterrent. Mine are as locked away and secure as anyone's I suppose. If someone is determined to take something, they will get it. They better hope they don't run into my boys or me though. PUD guy hates checking my meter...Is that a bad thing?
I really need to find one of those stickers for my quad "Is this quad worth your life?" Or, maybe a sign for the driveway, for next to the Beware of Dog sign "Is anything on this property worth your life?"
I gotta agree with the general consent about thieves though. Can't help but cheer everytime I see someone that beat the crap out of one when they caught the twit in the act.

Ok i don't know how many of you are hunters, or have guns, but i need some options. I currently have a 30-06 and i carry the heaviest gun at my camp. It has to much of a kick for me. There is no since in practicing when i get so nervous about the kick and I can't hit the target. I want a lighter gun to carry but i want enough power to kill a elk, with not such a big kick as a 30-06. My brother was talking to me acouple of days ago at his work and his boss mentioned to him something about a gas relay that is in the stock which takes away alot of the kick. I went to Gi- Joes and was asking the gun guy about it and he was looking at me like of course i was a female and i didn't know WTF I was talking about. There is also a relay that you can screw into the end of the barrel which takes away the kick BUT it is louder than heck i guess. The reasons that i'm looking for a new gun is because yes it's WAY to heavy to carry in the woods, 2nd i have a crack in the stock, 3rd the bolt action is way to loose, and 4th the safety is harder than hell to release. My brother thought a 270 or a 300 would be a good size for me. What do you guys think?

I would like to get a gun in the next couple of weeks. I leave to go hunting in less than a month and i would like to practice with it before i get in the woods.

I believe you now. I just checked out your pictures and the picture that has both of your dogs (sleeping like angels) has a gun in the back ground. You don't have to worry about me, I will stay FAR away from your house. LOL
