You can't find a limit, if you don't go looking for it.
Hey DirtYmomma,
Yep, you guys missed a fun time at Oakwood, sorry you couldn't make it
Ashley, Hayley, and Josh all raced.
It was fun to have Josh and the tribe of kids show up Sat and Sun
Weather got crazy on Saturday afternoon
To say it rained hard for a while would be a severe understatement
Kids, trailer, and quadcycles were all soaked..............
It was fun to watch Josh race, especially against those dang you kids that push you around
Good job
Saturday Hayley decided she wanted to practice.
The first time ever on a track, little careful but liked to jump.
Sunday racing brought out her competitiveness, hehehehe
Seemed the throttle worked a little better during the races
Had the same attitude and competitiveness as Ashley, oh boy I'm in trouble
She finished 1st place on both her moto and main, she did great for a beginner
Not scared and loves to jump
Ash did great also... Just didn't do as well as normal.
Fought the corners more than usual today........
Then got tangled up and rolled her quad up, but not over, and got pitched off.
She tangled with her arch rival
Never seen her move so fast though to get back on the quad and get it fired up and continue on.
She never gave up on it and raced to the end
She's racing in the Novice class trying to get as many points as she can until she gets her
LT80 back and put together. She's doing awsome.
Had two bad accidents this weekend.. One Saturday, One Sunday.
Saturday a kid went over his handlebars, augered his head into the ground
Tore up his helmet. Still in critical condition today, continues to ask the nurses to take off his helmet and goggles. I wish him luck and hope he gets better soon.
Today, kids flipped over his quad, hit his head hard, quad tire hit him in the chest. Kinda hard to tell how bad he is. Definate head injury and neck problem, due to his condition he couldn't answer questions appropriately. So hard to tell injuries until they look at him. I hope he is ok, and wish him the best......
Great and fun weekend
It's fun to race and hang out when others come...
Was going to leave and get kids home to eat and go to bed, but due the accident we stayed about an hour longer. Which was good because we stuck it out to watch Josh's last moto. Glad we didn't leave and got to watch him. More fun racing and watching I think when the are other.
Hopefully we can get a couple more next race
Make a party of it

With that said.............
On a more serious note..............
As we all know, with most things we get what we pay for.
I've seen 3 pretty significant accidents in the last month.........
Each one of them involving a head injury.........
First,
Two that didn't take a very hard blow to the head (compared to my second example),
but did significant damage to the helmet, crushing and breaking them.
Both kids have serious head injuries.
[b]Both these kids (one 16 and the other younger) had the average inexpensive helmet[b]
Helmetd destoyed and broken up.
Second,
One kid (18 y/o) had almost the full weight of his quad (450 I think) come down on his head.
With the helmet taking the brunt of that weight.
There was damage to the helmet of course, but just broke it a litte. Not significant.
After that hit, this kid really only had a jaw injury. Not a lot of trauma to his head.
[b]This kid had just bought (or somebody bought) a brand new top of the line (big $$$'s)
Shoei (spelling) helmet. I think about $500 or more from what I hear.
I know we can't all afford (definately me included) that kind of helmet........
But...........At what point is our health and quality of life important ????????
I hope the kid from above that is still asking inappropriate questions recovers......
As we all know very well, wouldn't take much for anybody to become a vegetable...
We all have no problem throwing $1000's of dollars into our machines to make them go faster than the next guy. Just ask MB how much go fast stuff he is selling,, hehehehe
All the more reason to protect ourselves with the best safety equipment we can...
I for one am saving my pennies to outfit my kids with the best helmet I can get.......
Probably still not the most expensive, but much better that the $100-$150 helmets.
After them, I'll just have to get Tam and myself one.......
Just a awaking for me, and my .02 cents.......................
