Is anyone planning or thinking about riding the Naches Pass Trail Oct 9th?? If your are please PM me so we can all meet up either at the trail head or someplace before. Again for the most part the trail is fairly easy with some changeling spots, overall it’s a fun trail. The scenery is awesome.

Maybe next time. My quadcycles will have their sandshoes on for the dunes. Sounds like a great time though. Have fun and keep the rubber down.

Glad to hear it Larry. We would miss you if you were to let a little dampness put a damper on you going. 9 days 1 hour... Have a great night.

On a more serious note..............
As we all know, with most things we get what we pay for.

I've seen 3 pretty significant accidents in the last month.........
Each one of them involving a head injury.........

First,
Two that didn't take a very hard blow to the head (compared to my second example),
but did significant damage to the helmet, crushing and breaking them.
Both kids have serious head injuries.
[b]Both these kids (one 16 and the other younger) had the average inexpensive helmet[b]
Helmetd destoyed and broken up.

Second,
One kid (18 y/o) had almost the full weight of his quad (450 I think) come down on his head.
With the helmet taking the brunt of that weight.
There was damage to the helmet of course, but just broke it a litte. Not significant.
After that hit, this kid really only had a jaw injury. Not a lot of trauma to his head.
[b]This kid had just bought (or somebody bought) a brand new top of the line (big $$$'s)
Shoei (spelling) helmet. I think about $500 or more from what I hear.

I know we can't all afford (definately me included) that kind of helmet........
But...........At what point is our health and quality of life important ????????
I hope the kid from above that is still asking inappropriate questions recovers......
As we all know very well, wouldn't take much for anybody to become a vegetable...
We all have no problem throwing $1000's of dollars into our machines to make them go faster than the next guy. Just ask MB how much go fast stuff he is selling,, hehehehe

All the more reason to protect ourselves with the best safety equipment we can...
I for one am saving my pennies to outfit my kids with the best helmet I can get.......
Probably still not the most expensive, but much better that the $100-$150 helmets.
After them, I'll just have to get Tam and myself one.......

Just a awaking for me, and my .02 cents.......................
I always liked the Simpson helmets when I was racing. Had some pretty hard head knocks while racing both cars and boats and never did more than mark the surface of a helmet. Was wearing one of my retired race helmets (if they were older than 4 years you had to replace them as they were no longer legal for racing) when I hit the deer in 1997 on my motorcycle. Major damage to the poor old body. The head had a balance tube knock loose in my right ear by bouncing that helmet off the pavement real hard a couple of times, even cracked the helmet a little, but no real damage to the head (the tube reattached itself and with some minor exercises worked properly again). If you are gonna go fast or race, a very good helmet (a $1000 is a bit extreme) can be had for about $300.

OK, you know how you start a project and when you get into it, you realize you should have just left well enough alone? Geez. On the bright side, Yoshi makes an impressive product. 3 years and the packing is perfect. Like I said, should have left well enough alone. Thanks for the toolage MB, it helped a great deal.

I agree to some of that but you can buy the most espensive helmet in the store and if it doesnot fit right you might as well just wrap your head with cotton ***** and duct tape...I tryed on many helmets but only found one brand tha fit ...shoei was too loose on the sides and tight in front and back...and so on untill I found one that fit....I need to retire that one but It will be replaced with one that fits and has a dot cert...

As far as this week end ....I had a blast....the kid that forced me off the track got what he deserved ....lapped....carma shut his yellow and black 450 off and didnt let it restart till after almost all the field past him...and yes he did force me off the track on purpose becacse just a little bump I gave him earlier

Power Ram, Id like to run the Naches trail, but right now Im set up for sand. If after the Florence trip you still want to put together a ride up there, Im all for it. I live in Maple Valley So Im not all that far from 410. Keep me in mind for later in the month before the snow flies.

Well Heck, If no one else will go on record I will. If it rains we aint goin!!!!!! Let me clarify that, If it rains ALOT!!! we aint goin!!!!! Im drawing the line at 50% chance.

Thats my story and Im sticking to it, unless a lot of money comes my way, or Berta changes it to her story. then that would make HIStory no good. (Get It? History)Text
