Default Puget Sound/Seattle NW Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

No "snow day"!!! My district has a four day memorial weekend. If we have a snow day, we make it up on memorial boohoo!

We like late starts! No make up days, hehe.

I know most of us do but this story just proves that you need to go out on each adventure prepared to be out there for a couple days.....there is no way to know if something will happen or not. I will tell you that I have been guilty of this myself (as I am sure we all have) but I will be even more prepared when I go out now and from now on, with extra clothes etc.....
BigDaddy and I talked a little bit about this at Rock Candy when we all went. One of the most important things is to dress properly. Dress to stay dry and warm, remember NO COTTON. Not even under your rain gear. You can carry enough stuff to get you buy in a small fanny pack that you can wear or strap to your machine somewhere.
We usually have numerous people on group rides, which is a good thing. Nobody should get stranded or lost by themself. What we should have on group rides (Like Rock Candy/Tahuya, etc.), is enough stuff to take care of somebody if they get hurt and we can't evac them out. Like a fleece blanket and survival blanket to keep them warm, small tarp to make a shelter if needed, a pad to put under them to keep them off the cold ground. Of course if one of us Utility guys is along, we have plenty of room to carry stuff.
Anyways, I'll put together a list of minimal survival gear we should all carry. Even you sportie guys can fit on your quads. I'll post it on the PSAR Group site. Might be a few days though.

Ride hard and ride safe

I created a Photo Album on the YAHOO PSAR page named MEMBER (forgot the "s") AND THEIR TOYS. I thought we could all put a picture or two of ourself and/or family and our rides. As we go on rides, if somebody has digital camera maybe snap a photo of guys & gals on their quad. We could probably cut down on space by using group photos as well. New people we get can then check us all out. I think we should limit to one or two photos each, this way we don't take up to much space. (I am going to snap a family photo and delete on of my pics). If this proves to take up to much space, we can delete it, or attempt to just use "group" photos. We'll see how it works.

It Is Freekin' Cold Out Here!!! I have to stand out in the lot all day today and watch people locate the utilities.

Yea.

I wish I was at home, or at least inside.

Sounds like the PSAR chat line is taking away the steam from this forum. It is so quiet here, I can almost get in a little nap it's so peacefull.

Ride Safe.

Um, hello. It's YoDaddy. (trying to look and sound small) I havn't got the pictures from The Rock yet. I'll stop by tonite with a floppy and get the pictures, and hopefully have them up late tonite or tomorrow. Somebody please hold the 6'2", 250 lb bruiser back until I get them up.

I must say, skiing ruled! I'm not that good, but skiing in powder that literally starts to choke you because it is so dry, makes even me look like a pro!

Catching up on the posts is nuts! I was wondering if we have a confirmed list of who is coming to the work party this weekend?

Did everyone get to play in the snow? We are supposed to get tons tonite! (oh boy, I get to drive a semi in this shiznet tomorrow) Be careful Hap, that's Canada day isn't it?

John

Hi Hollywood! (Isay staring at my hands and rocking from foot to foot) Hi Sandbomber! I don't know about this chat room stuff. I've never used it, so I'm nervous about trying it. (just call me Mr. Missionary) LOL I like this forum though, I hope nobody leaves it altogether.
