Larry, I don't know what site you got your information from, but the Siuslaw National Forest web site and the ReserveUSA web site both say all 3 camping areas at Sand Lake are open year round. This includes Sandbeach Campground. Everything is first come first serve until May 1st when reservations are taken on sites 1-60 at Sandbeach.

They mention that Sandbeach is closed in the winetr due to flooding. I am more apt to believe the Siuslaw National Forest web site since they operate the campground.
I'll check the sandlake Duners site to find some info.

 

We are going to be there next weekend (2/11) and the weekend after (2/18). We'll probably be on the sand on the south end of the tree line with a huge group of nuts with orange and blue flags.

Look for the green 98 crew cab dually pulling the HUGE new adrenaline fifth wheeler. yep ...got it handeled ...flag mount and orv sticker is the first thing we did to the truck...we have been sand camping at S.L. since we got the first trailer...as a mater of fact that is where we met camped out on the sand...
