Ok here the deal with Easton...
If you do not know where it is, Exit 70 and 71 off I-90, approximately 1.25 hours from Federal Way starting at I-5 and Highway 18.
There is two different areas to ride there....
There is the logging roads that wind and climb and wind and climb for miles and miles. I do not have a map for the logging roads but I know 90% of the area....and the fact that there is only one way in and one way out, its hard to get lost.
The other area is on the North side of I-90 and its filled with curvy bermed trails, hill climbs, logging roads, man made race track (very small ones with double jumps and table tops), and lots of scenery as well. I have never seen a map for this area either but again Ive spent a lot of time up here and know the area quite well.
Neither area is hard on equipment, it was dusty the last time I was there but there was no rain yet. The last time I was there we camped for the 3 day weekend and rode quite a bit but never got bored or even covered the same area, we also never made it to the south side of I-90 to the never ending logging roads. There are a couple "OH MY GOSH" hill climbs and trails that I know of as well if anyone is interested, and of course there is the ever popular lake bed thats fun to race each other, and flat out get wild, fast, and muddy.
Now there is one small problem with riding both areas, although I see a lot of people riding on the roads up there with Quads, Bikes, and Snowmobiles (they even have a speed limit sign on the side of the road) we may have to load up the bikes and drive the 4.5 miles to another staging area to ride both areas. I will be talking to the locals to find out the rules of the area but we can play that one by ear I suppose.
We were planning on camping but only if there were going to be others....we are now just planning on an all day trip of riding only, which is fine and a lot less work too. However the next trip camping (I have to go back and read again, I think someone was talking about getting "the group" together), I think we'll try to join the fun then if ok.
Ok so here is what I was thinking....Saturday 8:00 am RV TOWN restaurant (exit 70, turn left at end of ramp, turn right at the T in the road and staging area is to the left 1/4 mile big open parking lot just past or east of Towing company, Restaurant, and minimart/Texaco station)

I just got back from goldendale, raced both days, 4 laps each day. the track is really fast(in spots) & fun... a little choppy in spots. it is defnitely a great track to race on, and exactly as they describe on their website.... powersliding the sweepers in 4th gear is a blast!
saturday we had a little confusion due to low visibility(dust), someone took a wrong turn & so did the rest of us, ended up going through the MX track twice before going onto the GP course. they had 2 classes 2-stroke & 4-stroke. i ended up coming in dead last of the finishers... 3 DNF of the 15
sunday they made the two classs expert & amature. 14 entries, 3 DNF, we went the other direction, directly onto the GP track(no confusion), they were continuing to water as we ran, the dust was not as much a problem.. but there was a few mudddy spots. i ended up 1st in the amature class (6 entries).... and now have the trophy to prove it.

Nickli,
I was at Elfendahl Pass staging area. I met Yam926 there and we did way more talking than riding.
It was suprisingly hot out and it seemed like everyone was either lazy or/and beat up.
I was beat up and lazy.
I will ride this place again after some rain. Way too dusty!

I still haven't ridden Tahuya yet, but think I'll wait for the rain, probably after the Easton ride. There must have been alot of people out there, such a beautiful day. Are you thinking of the Easton ride or is that alittle too far? Always like to ride with new people, it inspires me to improve my riding skills, meaning you can always learn something from somebody else, a trick or a trade secret, that will make you a better rider. I myself have no tricks or secrets, I'm still on training wheels LOL.

re: Eaton. If I don't get Michaels TRX 90 repaired, would Michael (who is 12) do ok on his 2 wheel TTR 90 riding with all of us? (he's done well at Rock Candy)
although, until she says yes, 9its still 50/50 right now, she's still working on her Masters), I've discussed CAMPING with Marci the weekend of the 11th, and I've swiped my brothers travel trailer to make it easier, (it does need a little cleaning and repair, including the roof sealing I did yesterday)
as far as camping, the trailer is 21 foot or so, does the site you've mentioned have hookups, and/or seperate shower/bathrooms etc (the travel trailer wont have either that weekend unless I find more time than I expect)
hoping to ride that weekend (and camp!)
let me know if you get a chance
Thanks BILL

tahuya can throw some real fast curveballs. It can get really narrow and unforgiving there. Rocks and roots always seem to be hiding,,,and then reach out and grab you.
The Jeep section is a real good spot to warm up.

RealtorRider...he will be fine on the trails with the 90...I see a lot of Father sons riding there where the younger ones are riding 80's, 90's and 100's.
the campground is called Silver Ridge Ranch ( www.silverridgeranch.com ) and it has all the ammenities including a central shower/bathroom, and water and power at each site, and for 17.00 a night its a great deal.
We had given up on camping due to no one else camping and decided on just riding on Saturday with everyone else but if you decide you want to camp (IF ANYONE ELSE DECIDES TO CAMP AS WELL) let me know, because we can change our plans but Grandma and Grandpa need to be notified in advance ( as much as possible)
