We can accumulate a max of 1300 hours sick leave (remember we use 24 hours to be off for one day though). We earn 24 hours per month.
Once we reach the max, we continue to accumulate...If we have extra above the 1300 hours at the end of November, they pay us for the extra. We get paid .25 per dollar. Which can be a good chunk of change.
With my last knee injury, and just being off for one month with my back, it'll take me forever (couple years) to get maxed out.
I had just got maxed out when I had my last knee injury, I was so close.... Dang it.....
The reason we have it, is that the department tries to use it as an incentive for people to not abuse their sick leave.

They seem to like to pay us so we don't take our time off. We can't cash in any vacation time.
But we get 12 Holidays per year that we can schedule off, or get paid for.
That's kind of a no brainer, if their going to pay me, I'm not taking it off. Makes for a sweet Christmas bonus since they pay the end of November.

Unions are kind of a necessary evil IMO... I'm just very fortunate enough to be in a good one.
I know some that aren't so good, namely the one that covers my wifes job. ggggggggrrrrrrrrrrr
I know there are many folks out in the real world that are not as fortunate as others, and I don't think that is right.
It shouldn't cost you to take time off when sick or injured...........

Nope, no secret. My company has had an office in the hospital for 10 years...and now the hospital is moving us, and providing even less space for us...so I have to find new office space... BUMMER! Hey Bingy........(in my sweetest voice ever!).....could you call the ranch and put our cicrle on hold? I can never remember the site numbers and truth be told...aside from the call this morning, I've never interacted with anyone who runs the place. I just don't want to get the wrong one's reserved...that would be bad...forget peoples names..and screw up the reservation...I'd probably get lynched!

I sure miss our fire pit..........can't wait to see it again!

 

We usually camp for the weekend. There will be people arriving late Friday (maybe Thursday) and staying through until Sunday. So any day there should be people to ride with!

 

Ill be coming from, i think its called Elk Run (privite property) Theres trails that go to lake Katchess, Lake Cle Elum, Trails to an airfield, and the Power Line trails. What areas are u gonna ride?
