Looks like I get to walk among the day dwellers come July 1st. 4-10 wrap around. Fri-Monday, dayshift. No weekends off, but 3 days off a week in the summer and evenings off even when I am working. Couple vacation days will give me almost a week. Less crowded during the week for camping or whatever, too. We shall see.
LdyJay: Takes a while to get used to working weekends and making plans with folks that have weekends off but I suspect you will like it. SWMBO and I had that kind of schedule for a number of years and really liked it. Having time off durning the week does make for a lot less crowded camping, fishing and such and also makes it really easy to take care of medical appointments and other business stuff. I really think the advantages outweigh the problems that come up. One of the big advantages is the big bosses seldom, if ever, are interfearing with getting the work done. You may not have that problem where you work but most folks will understand this. The 4-10s is a sweet shift. Hope it works for you.
Yeah, that's a lot of the reason I honestly liked working graveyard the last three years. It was the schedule I could get with my seniority with the most flexibility to still do the things I wanted to. I work to live, not live to work. Nice thing is, I have a good deal of vacation time so I can still probably swing a day ride here and there on the weekend. Of course, I already have the Florence and Horsfall trips reserved off. Wahoo!
FLORENCE,DUNES!

Now this I am - n o t - showing to the wife. She is the one that spoke, I just relayed the message.
Me too, but I think we should take credit for this as we were smart enough to ask their advice.

I have an extra site reserved for Florence on Friday and Saturday. June 9 and 10. Site number 6 on the outside of the loop. If anyone wants it, you can pay me the $40 and save yourself the $9 reservation fee. If you come down Thursday, it shouldn't be occupied and you will probably just be able to pay that night at the campground. Otherwise, I am going to give the site up and get my money back or reserve a site on different dates. Please let me know. I will probably dump it by the end of the week if no interest.
