Hey everyone. The wife gave me the go ahead to get a 450!!! I am thinking about getting the LTR. Besides with the frame cracking, as anyone heard anything else that is bad? Oh and all that crap that Rancher was talking about when I got stuck in the mud hole last weekend. I had already gone through that mud hole twice. besides that the jeeps made the hole another 6-8 inches deeps and stickier.
Wild.. what do you wanna do with it? The LT is not set up for trails. you will never keep up with rancher on it.
I do just fine on the trails, thank you. Wild, I LOVE my LTR450. I am thinking 22" tires for trails to add some clearance and make sure you have FULL skids. Yes, it's a little wider, but not really much wider than the big Utes. Just gotta watch the edges on the tight spots. They also make narowing kits for it.

It kicks booty at the dunes.

If you want to wait, word is, Kawasaki is coming out with the LTR450 version with reverse and actually set up more for trails. Don't know release date though. That should be a biyatching machine.
ive gotta respecfully disagree with you jayna

bouncing a ltr off the roots, rocks and mudholes of a tight rutted out trail could be considered a tragedy

abuse like that should be reserved for bikes that deserve the abuse (like my raptor)

that kawi sound interesting!!

It's not for sure, but pretty dang close.
Tam looked at the camper and it had a lot more room than she thought.
We stuck all the kids in there and it won't be to bad......
Not much storage at all for clothes etc with 5 of us, but we can figure that out.

I wish I had a dually so I could get the big camper, nice having that extra room.....

Hey ROD,
What setup do you have for towing your trailer?
I'm probably gonna have to go with the Super Hitch.

Do you have airbags on your truck??????

Hey WILD,
I haven't heard of many problems with the Zuki 450 other than the frame.
Depending on your size (maybe around Happa size or bigger), you may want to get the shocks re-valved.
Ken (dsxbear) did that and he likes the ride a lot better.
I'd wait until September/October if you can, when Suzuki puts out the '07 models.

Good Luck

Sean, something that's worked pretty well for us in the past and would work really well for you with your enclosed trailer, is to use the large plastic storage bins (I get mine at Wally World on the cheap). You have to plan ahead to get what you need in the AM the night before, so you aren't running around in your skivies finding stuff in the morning. But it solves the storage space problem. We still use them to this day, so as to keep the camper less crowded with all the stuff we have added over the year.

while the ltr can go down them. Far to much caution is required.. Narrower the better.. I focked my craptor up. its too wide now and i gotta come up with a remedy....

Yes that kawi does sound real interesting. should be in a the stores in a couple months.

You're right, probably not on Molly Porter, and I MISS reverse. Maybe there's a trade-in in my future...

Of course, that's why I kept the Z, for trails and an extra dune quad. Maybe one day I will even get it to run right. I have lost patience with it and have little motivation to touch it anymore. Who knows. It has cobwebs on it now. Bah.

Think I am going to see if my 22's from the Z will fit the LTR. They only have one ride on them. The aftermarket nerfs might give me more clearance, tooThat would be a cheaper way to gauge what size I want to buy for it and how it will handle with the bigger tires.

Last time we bought an F350 at the farm the single rear tire had a greater load capacity rating than the dually. Might want to check on this for yours. Replace the stock tires with some good wide ones and you will have plenty of stability. JMHO based on past experience, but I could be wrong.
