Any thoughts on using AMSOIL in a wet clutch system?
Thinking of what I can do to help the overheating my clutch did and the ugly noises it was making at me when trying to crawl behind Kevin over the roots and rocks. Definately not a quad that is designed to crawl along like those automatic utes. It will make the obstacle, but not without a little room to wiggle. It stopped doing it when we took a long enough break(for Wild to splint his tierod) and is also fine today, so I don't think it's anything needing major repair yet. Clutch has less than 30 hours on it-replaced it with an EBC Heavy duty one when the motor was rebuilt.
Ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Or something like that.

Couple additional pics from Wild's Walker Valley Redneck Repair Shop under Redneck quad repair at the MSN site. What a great ride!

Well, I got an eye-opener. Went to Florence last week, took off on 1st ride, blew tranny out of my '01 Raptor, clear back by Center. Buddy dragged my sorry *** back to camp, took it to Florence Yamaha, and asked them if they'd stick the newer tranny in it. They were very accomodating, but it still cost me 900 bones, and I didn't get it back 'till the day we left. 2 things: Believe everybody that says the '01 tranny is crap, and wear a kidney belt when you ride a 250EX all week around dunes. BTW, I was putt-putting up the easy side of a dune in 2nd gear, talking to my buddy's daughter who was riding alongside of me, and it just suddenly locked up. All the shift dogs were broken off of 2nd gear.

It was great meeting everyone I hadn't met before. I rode behind Rancher most of the ride. I wanted to hang in the back and make sure everyone went the same way.
OFC sorry to hear about Mud dog. I had to have my dog (Dazey) put to sleep last week. She was 18 years old and had cancer in her mouth. She had been with us since she was 6 weeks old.
