Hmm. Could be you have a point Randy. I dropped Bing a PM earlier about this and am awaiting a reply. Some subjects are apparently to topical for everyone to maintain an objective and open viewpoint on. I would really hate to see this forum become too tightly restricted as there is so much good humor, open comments and variety here. Much of what makes PSAR here on ATV Connection is the really open exchange and willingness to share knowledge and experience. To have to restrict this just to rides and quads would, in my opinion at least, be a major mistake.
Ten: some people ARE uncomfortable when it comes to talking guns and their uses. WE as reasonable and RESPONSIBLE card carrying members should respect their opinions and keep the GUN TALK amongst ourselves, that way everyone's rights are considered. JMHO.........

a forum is just that,,,,a forum,,,,,a public meeting place for open discussion, a medium (as a newspaper or online service) of open discussion or expression of ideas

guns, tanks, boating, atvs, carpentry, cats dogs, hippies,,,,,,,,whatever

only time we would ever intervene (in this type of scenario),,,,is if one user is making a personal attack on another user

if you dont like the current discussion,,,,,i suggest that people tune out

pretty simple shizz

Bing, while agree with what you say to a certain extent and respect your opinion and your position as a moderator it brings the question up, why do they have a hunting outdoor activities and farming forum on the connection? Just as they have the where to ride forum. I think that while it is great that we have a place to talk to like minded ATV enthusiasts about ATV's and other things, it should be kept to mostly the subject of ATV's and the other stuff should be posted in the appropriate sections of the forum as we all have ATV's in common but there are some who do not share some of the other intrests and they should not have to tune out of what has become their meeting place to discuss ATV's. Im having a hard time trying to figure out why the owner of this forum went to all the trouble to make different sections of this forum if anything goes in this one as far as subject matter? Can we talk about same gender marraige here is that an appropriate subject? I know that would offend me just as the gun talk has offended another member. Does it have to be more than one person offended before it is not considered acceptable subject matter? If so I find this troubling. I guess I don't think it's pretty simple shizz.
the thread says "Puget Sound/Seattle NW Area Riders Meet HERE!!!",,,,,that is a pretty general topic

there have been many great ideas about expanding the forums to include all kinds of topics,,,,,but i think dave just wants to keep it simple (there have been hundreds of suggestions,,,,,should they all be honored?)

also,,,,as much as i agree with what i wrote,,,,,they are not necessarily my opinions,,,,,questions like these get answered everyday,,,,and we go by precident as the forum is an evolving monster that has no clear black and white bounderies

if you want my opinion,,,here it is,,,,I have never witnessed so many grown adults act like such a bunch of spoiled children in my life. Some of the behavior on this thread has left me bewildered in the last year or so,,,and because of this, i do a bit less participating

it actually is pretty simple,,,and it will remain simple,,,,,its an open forum for psar

there are thousands of atv threads to keep you and others occupied during hunting season when gun lovers are excited

feel free to start your own thread that is more specific on content if you wish,,,then you would have an argument that the mods would back up

typically, when a bunch of complaints come in regarding a thread,,,and no-one can come to terms with it,,,the thread ends up in the trash can,,,,so i suggest you guys work it out amongst yourselves,,,,you are all damn near twice my age

Only thing I can do at this point is refer any complaints about this topic to an older crotchety moderator who might be able to understand what is happening a little better

Bing I consider you a friend and I respect your opinion so I'll just have to agree to disagree. This to me was never an attempt to try and undermine anyones constitutional rights or supress gun lovers of which I am one, quite the opposite in fact. To me it was all about tolerance and respect, a point that seems to have escaped young and old alike. If you feel I have not acted my age in trying to get my point across somewhere along the line then for that I am sorry. I thought I was clear , concise and articulate in trying to make my point and had hoped that more like minded would have weighed in as I know they are out there. I too have chose to participate less and less and now I may indeed take your advice and be done altogether.

Food for thought, if were all supposed to be friends here and one of our group is uncomfortable enough with the subject matter to speak up about it then should we not respect his or her wishes? That's how we do it when we are together, why should it be any different here?
IMO,,,if someone is uncomfortable about subject matter (whether it be TV, radio, online forum,,,,or fireside chat) they should remove themselves from that situation or change the channel. IMO,,, for someone to think that everyone around him should change,,,,so that person doesnt get offended,,,,is laughable. This is the main reason that when i visited Salt Lake City,,,,,i was only there long enough to visit Uinta brewery.

I am heading to Bethel Ridge at some point tomorrow to meet up with the knucklehead gang and maybe shoot something.
Half way down Hoover canyon, two draws come together. Great spot to sit and wait. Easy to take them downhill from there.

When I chaired meetings any subject , or feeling, was welcomed to be expressed, much to the displeasure of of a few others present.
But that was AA.. Treatment is a differnt thing. She gets hell bent if we don't take her statements that are known to be BS and unsubstatiated as gospel. and then you get the threat of worse treatment because your views don't mesh. and thats a straight up scare tactic thats BS in my book. but hey. what am i right about in this world. Nothin i guess.
i could really see you hanging yourself out to dry in those meetings

do what Julie did after every question, "I would never......my dad was a preacher",,,,,maybe throw in a little southern charm too

OFC isn't near cute enough for southern charm to work!
when is the last time you saw him?

I suspect they will want you over the flu prior to working on the hernias (hernium?) But in any case take it very easy so you don't pop something.

Something over a half century ago (Good Grief! Has it really been that long? ) We would pack into the upper end of Cowpuncher and set up camp where it topped out. Rode all over that country when you would see maybe two or three other hunters in a day. That spot always had elk around. In later years there was an older couple that would camp at the bottom of Hoover for the entire season. He would walk uphill to hunt and she would tend the fire. Nearly every year she shot a bull from the campsite. Twice we packed meat in for them. Good times.
