Actually the family came from the Lap Landers that chased reindeer around for a living. They would migrate from near Archangel in Russia to the North Sea coast far to the west and down it quite some distance. Since they spoke a dialect that is best understood in Finland that is the country they claimed as their ancestral home. Basically we came from a bunch of border jumpers, left to avoid being drafted into the Russian army and snuck into the USA by way of Canada. My heritage is of illegal immigrants and draft dodgers.
