Default Puget Sound/Seattle NW Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

Good Morning PSAR What a delightfully dewy AM.

It is impossible to get a woman out of the house on time! We're leaving for the farm for a week or so, trip has been planned for over a month. Times set, route chosen, pick up one grandkid in Tacoma, the whole thing. The girls are still packing. You'd think I would learn to just sit and doodle on the puter or something. Oh!, wait, I am.

Have a great Turkey Day PSAR.

Wow, looks like i asked the wrong question back on Friday. I had no idea that people left. I thought they were just busy. I'm very sorry that you guys are deciding to leave. Randy, i think you are just awesome. I have never meet you in person, but you have helped everyone out that has a raptor or any other brand. You answer questions truthfully and quickly, even on other ATV boards. Bid D, I have never meet you but you also seem to help everyone out when somebody has a question, about drag racing, and riding. I just want to thank you both! I don't want to see either one of you leave, but if that is what you choose, that's fine. I hope i get to meet you guys on a ride someday. Take Care!

Default Puget Sound/Seattle NW Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

Saturday i went riding at Tahuya. I had alot of fun. It was my first ride since i fractured my collarbone. I took it kinda easy. I didn't do any doughnuts but i did do some whoolies. I had alot of fun, got super wet. But i did stay dry, with my rain gear on. My friends nephew was with us on a warrior and the case saver broke and now there is a hole into the engine. I'm not exactly sure if it is 100% the engine part but there is a big nasty hole from it breaking. He got towed back and when the case saver broke the chain was very loose, probably could of taken 3 links out. We get back to the truck and it's tight. Very strange.

So we get back to the truck and i parked on the end of the row so i could use the ramps on my trailer and not get blocked in. My ramps are on the side of the trailer. Well some dip $hit, parked right next to me so i couldn't put my ramps down. So my friend Heidi and I picked the trailer up and jacked knife it, so i could get my ramps down. I was so pissed! He could of moved forward like 3 more feet and it would of been fine, but NOPE he had to park close to me and where i couldn't get my ramp down. He parked so close to me i had to SQUEEZE in to get into the drivers sear. His trailer was just a motorcycle trailer, that held 3 bikes. That's why i decided to move it.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

I had trouble with the jet-ski batteries because I hadn't used them or charged them in a while and they wouldn't take a charge. I was told to charge them at 10 amps for an hour or so (if it's a water battery), until the cells were bubbling, then put it down to a trickle charge. Worked great. Sometimes they just need a jump start. Keep in mind, you may need to replace the battery soon, it's about 4 years old now isn't it?
I think I'll just buy a battery charger, set it to 10 amps and see what happens. I think it's actually 2yrs old, can't remember when I bought the new one, but, I'm sure I put one in.
I WOULD NOT charge it @ 10 amps Happa, get yourself a little charger, they have Schumakers @ Walmart for $17 it has a 2 amp setting & is also a float charger, put it on 2 amp & leave it alone, it will maintain the battery also!! WE've charged a few @ 10 amps & have lost them it boils them very easily!! Also @ Harbor Freight they have little float chargers for like $10 we have one of them also for Eleanore!! Good Luck
I wouldn't normally charge a battery at 10 amps. However, when I have a battery that isn't taking a charge and the only other option is to buy a new battery, what do I have to loose? That advice was passed to me when I had a couple batteries that wouldn't take a charge. I did it and it worked (twice).

The key is get it to bubble (hydrogen/oxygen gas escaping) then turn it down to low amperage. This is only for a wet cell battery, don't do it on a gell cell or a dry cell battery. This is bad news on a new battery or for normal maintenance, only do this as a last resort if the battery isn't taking a charge. The alternative is to buy a new battery.

Re-reading your post Larry, did you try charging it to begin with? I assumed you tried charging the battery first. As Kym stated, always trickle charge, if it doesn't take a charge then do something else.

The Pro way is to not get any blood on yourself to start with.
