The electronic Rectifier/Regulator have a small current draw when not running and will make your battery go flat, the switch will prevent this and if you mount it hidden somewhere it is an anti-theft device and you probably wouldn't need the flow charger either. Harbor Freight has a slick little one (I bought 5 for the quads, the boats and a spare) that will work and they are on sale now.
