Default Puget Sound/Seattle NW Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

I'll try not to get too deep into the bike verus quad roosting incident, but this is my take on the whole matter. I was on the extreme right side of the track on a long straight away when the bike passed me on the right side scaring the crap of me, then passed Quad4fun on the left side pulling in front of him roosting him with a blip of the throttle, then he was gone.

The guy was being a AZZ HOLE but, we're on their turf, I'm sure they feel intrusion, and face it, two wheelers aren't in love with 4 wheelers. They've been riding there for 3 years, when these guys practice, they pratice just like they race, as does alot of our group, and in racing you'll have guys pull right in front of you and give it to you in the face.

All day I saw only one and never heard of any other incident between quads and bikes, that's what I would call a good day of getting along with each other. I always held my line and if anybody wanted to pass they went for it. I was roosted by a couple of dirtbikes on the MX portion, and even by King when I was right behind him. Probably pay back from when I roosted him while he was taking his tinkle break at Beverly

I don't want to take anything away from Sean as to what happened, but that's racing and even in practice it's a get out of my way or I'll run you over or roost you mentality. You must go into these events knowing this is gonna happen and it will never change, Boys will be Boys. You must put on your game face, bring your brass ***** and toughen up your skin because when these boys come from miles away and spend the kind of money they spend on these events, they don't like to play around, this is serious stuff for most out there.

One jerk out of all that were there, that's a great ratio, and that same guy passed me again on the MX portion and was kind to me in his passing, heck maybe he just had a brain fart or something who knows. I'm just glad nobody slapped me on the back of the helmet as they wizzed by me

Larry

Its a dog eat dog world on any closed course,,,,especially one dominated by 2 wheelers.
Personally, I am extremely greatful for the bikes tolerating us quads to the extent that they did. (the animosity is pretty intense on the east coast,,,,,,,days like yesterday dont even take place where I used to live/ride)

Roosting (racing) is part of the sport,,,,and it can take a toll on the body, the bike, and the pride.
Ive never heard of a family style MX practice day.
Fact is,,,,it will likely happen just about every time you visit an MX track.
I got roosted many times yesterday,,,,,,and I roosted back many times yesterday. (I do prefer to be roosted by a quad however).

Anyhow,,,i feel bad that one incident seemed to ruin someones entire day.

Like I said yesterday, racing is racing and getting roosted is part of the game. I understand that. I got roosted my share yesterday by guys passing me on the MX track. I chalked that up to just what it was, part of the game and just what happens out there, not to intentional. None of that P'd me off.
I understand and honestly respect all that you guy say and your opinions. You all have been doing this alot longer than I have.
What happened WAS NOT RACING, I know the differnece betweent he two. It was just a freaking jacka$$. It was blatantly intentional. What p'd me off was the fact I was staying out of all of their ways and moving way out of their way so they could pass (thus taking some of the fun out of my ride because I was always watchng for them and letting them pass me), and that's the thanks I get. I also did mention there were more bikes that went around nicely and some even waved. I'm pissed at the one jacka$$.
My personal opinion, although I have not had a lot of experience doing this, is that bikes and quads should not be on the MX or GP course at the same time, period. Bikes ride different and are faster, just seems kinda dangerous when you get two different style and speed riders out there. Hopefully with our good showing yesterday, a good showing at the Race, large numbers of quads continuing to show up for events, and those of you working hard to make sure that happens (you know who you are, don't want to name names and insult somebody by forgetting you), we will be able to a lot more more Quad only practice and race days. I know we are fairly new into this and have to show we have the numbers to gain respect and earn our place.
The GP race wil hopefully be fun. But with my quad and my riding ability (not one pissy a$$ biker), I just wouldn't have fun doing stuff like yesterday. I'll stick to the trails and the dunes until it's quad only and I get a quad set up for those kind of tracks. I'll come out and watch and support you bad a$$ boys and girls race, that would be fun. You guys can ride the he!! out your quads, that's fun to watch.
BTW, that one guy didn't ruin my day. He just put big exclamation point at the end of it. Part of it was me. I didn't feel with my abilty and lack of appropriate quad I shouldn't be out there in that atmoshpere. Always looking over my shoulder for those faster (bikes and quads), constantly moving for them, sometime pulling over, wasn't that fun. Some day I may get the right quad and learn to ride it.
LASTLY, yesterdays fun overshadowed all of that. It was fun meeting new folks being with this group of people, that is what is fun.

=============
Glad everybody is recovering from yesterday, I'm in the same boat. But feel pretty good this morning.
Now out to get all the mud off the quad...............

Happa
Old is as old does.
Old people dont ride quads. Young people ride quads.

I take my hats off the the seasoned riders in our group (no need in mentioning them all),,,,,I hope I am able to ride for a good long time.
I ditto that BINGer, not much more to add to that thought.

There's only one BIG POINT i would like to get across. If you bring your kids to a track so they can ride a kiddy track, make sure that is where they are riding. The reason being i seen two little girls on one quad trying to get on the mx track. We yelled at them and they turned around. A few minutes later i hit the mx track and what do you know. There are these two little girls riding double on a mx track. VERY DANGEROUS. Here i come jumping a tabletop and there they were. Good thing i was on a quad cause if i would have been on a bike i would have landed on them. I stopped everyone till these two little girls got off the track. I may be wrong for doing it but i could stand to see these girls getting hurt. And that's the bottom line.

Now after i got that off of my chest. I had a great time yesterday and had a awesome time roosting, getting roosted and passing and being passed yesterday. Thanks to everyone that made yesterday so fun. Great to see everyone and the new ones. I really like passing adambomb!!!!!! I should have made a wager with him. Like he had to ride all the way back to seattle in the back in my coffin.
