Hey Bear, when was that ride the NWQR have planned? I went back and looked for it but you know how this place adds pages. Could you re-post that? Tnxs
The Northwest Quad Riders ( NWQR ) are having a group ride on Memorial Day Weekend at the Morrow County OHV Park . The wife and I are going to stay in one of the cabins, but there is a nice RV park in the park. The NWQR has a thread for this ride: Morrow County Thread. This is the same group that I did two China Hat rides with last year and one Capital Forest ride the weekend after the 4th.
Thanks Bear, that sounds like a good trip.

What really matters is do you have a 20, 30, 50 or, rarely seen, 70 amp receptacle? Needs to match the heater you use. Just putting a different plug on the cord wont SAFELY get the job done. Draw a picture of the receptacle, measure the distance between the openings and see if you can find what size breaker is feeding it when you go heater shopping. It will make things a lot easier.
Two 30amp breakers connected, 250v-30amp receptacle, slots on receptacle are both horizontal, does this help?
It means you have about 3 to 4 times the heating capacity available that you would have with a standard 110 outlet. That is the information you need when you are looking for a heater. Should give you enough to warm up an insulated shop that's not too big. If you go with an old electric furnace you will be able to run three heating elements and the fan just fine on 30 amps. That would give you around 20,000 BTU and at 8.5 cents KWH cost about $1.75 per hour of run time. I would pay that to have a place to work that's warm. Heater probably would not be on full time depending on how well insulated the area is and how high you set the t-stat.
