Old PSAR thread - please see the new one
Mr. Ozark was lost from when we left him just above the lower staging area where he tipped his quad on it's side. We got my scrambler to the road (after it stopped running for some reason) and he wondered by, maybe 30 minutes after he was missing. I pointed him up the trail and he returned about 10 minutes later. I pointed him up the road at that point and he was found by the others...or made it back. However, I do know he was found because he had a beer in his hand at the mexican restaurant after the ride....
We really need to employ a buddy system... Look out for two others.
MB tested out Mrs's Toyz winch today to yard himself out of a hole... again absent of others around to help. But everyone is ok and Mrs. Toyz is happy to know the winch works great.
Edit: I really did take english classes in school...

I was using the buddy system with him at that point, but, I should have waited for him at the blacktop, which I didn't, hence, he made a wrong turn and got completely lost. I did the same with Bill (RealtorRider) on the second ride, waited for him at all crossings until he decided he wanted to go back to the staging area, at that point, I took off to catch the rest of the group.
It's not easy keeping track with 27 riders, but the old buddy system we used before simply was, don't lose sight of the rider behind you, if that rider's not in sight, stop and wait for them to catch up. Also, stop at all road crossings and where trails split and wait for everybody to catch up.
I'm very glad he ran into Karl, we wouldn't have left until he was found, I felt responsible for him getting lost in the first place. Everything worked out alright, it was a great ride and the largest number of riders I've ever been with.
A huge thanks to everybody

Larry, I wanted to go to Reiter this time. But your start time just makes it to early a departure time from my house. Chuck and I are gonna do a local ride out the 2400 Road and over to the gasline.
