It really is a great way to train them about borders. It also depends on the dog's personality, but it's worked well more than once for me. And because it works when you aren't standing there, they don't associate the bad consequences with you. Taz tested my pasture fences twice the first time I had the hayburners home and he is very respectful of the property lines now. I had a jumper that used to hurdle my 6' wood fence. Wired that up and after a couple reality checks, he never jumped another fence again.
Electrons are sooo cool. it took 2 times for my cousins new lil aussie to hit the fence and she figured out not good. once they know the fence will get em you don't have to even have it on. They associate it electrons with the wires.. Moose used to push on the gate tellin you to open it.. So there is a switch you can turn on for the dogs that wanna jump on gates and stuff. they don't touch the gates no more. and everything is associated like jayna said with the fence. Not you.

Thinking breakfast at the cafe in Darrington.

Hey, I bet that would be a good jaunt for the TrAktor and not beat the snot outta the operator as badly as Walker. And what about a nice sunny Sunday ride for Carissa's parents? Rod? Everyone else?

Gonna be a beautiful day Sunday.
Where do you ride in Darrington? I am interested in this, though it may not be this weekend. I don't get that way too much, so I can't say that I know the area. Still, this is fairly close, so would be nice to know of some other spots close by. Thanks!

Chris

I honestly can't give you great directions, I know how to get there, but I don't know any of the road names to give directions. It's not a designated area, but quads aren't banned yet. There aren't a ton of trails, it's mostly logging road riding, which is better than nothing and sometimes better than slogging through massive mudholes. I just pulled up some info on pet smart. They have the kind that you can do yourself. Above ground or below. Like i said I just want to make sure that both of the dogs don't go out to the road. I keep catching my choc fairly close to the road. So what I would be doing is, putting the wire like 15 feet from the road. I have a side yard maybe 50-60 feet wide, and then the front yard and on the other side of my house out to the pasture that I would like to get wired (straight line). I dont' care if they go to the neighbors behind me, his dogs come over and poops in my DRIVEWAY and my back yard. I make my dogs go out to the pasture to do there business. Looks like I will be taking a trip to petsmart this weekend or even possibly co-op. I have seen them there before. I won't be doing the whole 5 acres I'm just avoiding the dogs from the road. This is the only down fall about my house, I live so damn close to the road.

When I was looking at those fences PetSmart was one of the more expensive places to buy. Costco, Cabella's and a couple of local farm supply places had better prices. Been awhile so things may have changed.

We are riding Moses this weekend, but that is probably too far for you for a day trip.

Good Afternoon PSAR. Where did the sun go, it is raining again.

Our "Stable" is now full. I picked up Alida's new/used bike last night. I got a '04 Artic Cat DVX 400. It has AC Pro Nerf Bars w/ Heel Guards, Big Gun slip on (NO COWBOY, SLIP, NOT strap ), Air box eliminator(putting stock back on) & a full set of haulers. Pretty good condition, a couple of broken plastic mounts, but no big deal.

Did the DVX have the same problems that the LTZ had, some kind of coolant problem?? Let me know.

The water pump cover errosion was in the 05 Suzuki/Kawi. I don't think the AC had those problems, at least not for '04. Dunno if their '05 did.
