I have enjoyed my 400ex and my preddy equally.

I raced that 400 (stock) motocross for one season and it never scared me - it was very reliable. Plus when I broke my wrist, I could still ride it once we trimmed the cast back.

The preddy is much more gooder in the sand. I'm a little timid actually because I've skeered myself once or twice.

Go for the best deal and what feels best - have fun!

Go with the less expensive place. Or go to Oregon and there's no sales tax or set up fees!
I thought you had to be a resident to get away with no sales tax?
You can register it in Oregon. The Coos Bay Honda dealer would charge an extra$150.00 to register it down there.
Don't know how they do it.
You pay sales tax on a quad bought in Oregon, when you register it up here.
They still don't charge set up fees. Shows you how the stealers up here rip you off.
The Arctic Cat dealer in Chehalis, Industrial Specialties, does not charge shipping or set up fees. And they still beat every one elses price before the fees.

It is illegal to register your quad, or any vehicle for that matter, if you are a resident of Washington. There is a gray area that if you own property in Oregon it isn't illegal per Oregon law, bur Washington sure as hell will write you if they ketch you. FYI, If Washington does catch you, the fine will be way more than the sales tax and the registration fees. You ask how do the find out? You in the staging area getting ready to unload your rig and the cop walk up and notices your Wshington tabs on you truck and/or trailer and your Oregon sticker on you quad. I know one guy that has been done in this way at Tahuya this year. He tried to fight it in court too and it cost him close to a $1000 and there was no lawyer involved.
So make it a dunes only quad and you're set!
the quad we just looked at is titled in oregon also. what is the fee's for changing it to washington title?

And Happa, I plan to be in the parking lot. I don't trust my truck to pull out on the sand and not get stuck. Hoping we can kinda circle the wagons if everyone gets down there around the same time frame. I am trying to head out after work Thursday.

Just like a car, it will vary depending on the price listed on the bill of sale, which will then depend on taxes and title transfer fees, etc.

And the 660 isn't really that much more power than the 400 like you are thinking. The numbers relating to the engine displacement comparing the two motors do not translate straight across. For example, my Suzuki 400 is comparable(mostly) to 660 and my Suzuki LTR450 is more comparable to the Yamaha 700R. Not exactly, but you get the idea of what I am trying to explain. I got offered a new job today. Still within my company, but as a Fiber Network Field Tech. It's a job that I will really enjoy. The only sticking point I will have is I have 3 weeks to prep for pole climbing. They are going to see if they will hold my position until my wrist heals, but haven't heard from the doc if it's broken or just badly sprained. Either way, it's going to be a challenge to work on my upper body strength between now and then. Hoping I can suck it up and get through the one week course. I would not count on that either.

I can barely climb out of my lzy boy right now, but I will see if in a week or two we can hook up and I can hopefully help U. Do U have hooks already, and have U climbed yet and been taught the basics like one knee always straight in case U cut out it will stab back in if Ur leg is locked. Is all Ur climbing belt climbing, if so that is somewhat easier, we had to free climb 65ft without belt, regulations soon will be changing on that and looks like things will be going towards double belts.

I probably will be off at least till the 21st so lets see what we can do to help U get that job.

That sounds like HOW i felt after my single OP.........I don't know how Larry was able to get up and around so quickly. It took me 4 weeks just to be able to stand up straight..........
