What do you mean by putting the exhaust on it? What's it do? When you hit the throttle it cuts out or sputters or dies, or when you let off the throttle? Does it happen all the way through the throttle, at idle only, half throttle, full throttle, etc.

You are rejetting after installing the new exhaust? If that's it, what size jets are you changing to? and are you changing the pilot jet as well as the main?

I jetted it with a 160 and moved the needle up one notch. I took it for a few spins around the block and heated it up. Took it to second gear and throttled it full on and it was great. Then I put on this new exhaust and its sputtering. Not sure what needs done. The directions and my mechanic buddy said that what I am running jet wise is just fine.
This is with the stock carb? I run the Yosh Comp system and I never touched my needle. I ran a 165 main and went up one or two(can't remember now) sizes on the pilot jet. So if stock is a 22.5, I went up to a 25 or 27.5 for example.
What's your plug look like? Sputtering on acceleration? When you romp on the throttle to wide open?

I was running a 170 main and a 25 pilot and didn't touch the needle, I had a full Duncan Fatboy so different exhaust but it does sound like U are lean. Oh by the way mine was Green and I used to call it the KGB, but after losing too many races in the sand I decided it was time to step up. Mo CC's = Mo BETTER!

And welcome to our little world!
