slomoe is SLO. We were going along and I think he wasn't scared, cuz he wasn't doing a wheelie. That is messed up.

Does anybody have an idea of how much tow weight is actually transfered to the rear axle or how to calculate it?

Basically the tongue weight of the trailer is on your rear axle, unless there you have a weight distribution setup. Which unfortunately you can't use on a class C motorhome......

It might be slight damage. Don't know yet. If it is major, its going BIG.

This is why a Class C is almost overweight or at the limit BEFORE even adding a trailer. The rear axle GAWR on a class C is very easy to exceed, you put a trailer on and you go way over. That is why I steered away from the Class C and went to the toyhauler.
Larry, here is what you need to do.......
Look at your MH ID plate.
write down these numbers.
GVWR - Total weight the MH can carry including people and stuff
GAWR rear - total weight allowed on the rear axle
GCWR - Total weight allowed with people and stuff, including any towable trailer
Load the MH with all that you would load for travel and get it weighed.
Weigh the front and rear axle.
Subtract the ACTUAL weight on the scale for the REAR axle from the rear GAWR.
This well tell you what you have left for tongue weight on the trailer.
Subtract the total weight of the MH from the GVWR.
Hopefully there will be enough left over to account for any tongue weight
On some class C MH's there really isn't much left over.
Subtract the total weight of the MH from the GCWR.
This will tell you how much total trailer weight you can have.
Larry,
I would venture to say.............
EDITED this part
Sounds like you did the weighing and I was wrong, thought you might be able to use a 7x14 with 2 quads and gear.

Now some people have tried to beef the extensions up by welding more, or adding supports. But, by doing so you are putting all the liablity on you. No insurance company or warranty company will standy by it.

Because of the frame extensions that they use to mount the receiver hitch on. The recievers are not actually bolted to the chassis frame. The extensions are not rated for anything over the hitch rating.
