It's a Ford, (go figure, that's all I own ), do ya'll order them also or just install?
Well THATS the problem if you would of bought a DODGE it'd pull ANYTHING
LMAO
Now Now, lets not blast the Ford, it pulls like crazy, V10 on a E-450 chassis, but, 2 slides do add alittle weight, but it'll still do 70mph up the pass

Now you can easily see the trailer and where you are going with it. On top of that the steering wheels are real close to the hitch and steering the trailer is much easier. I learned this trick when boat racing and having my camper on the truck. Couldn't see the boat and trailer hardly at all with it was on the rear hitch, but with the front hitch could hit the boat ramp every time, the first time.
Great idea, or a few PSAR Brothers in camp to muscle it around with me
Bet there would be someone around with a ute and trailer hitch. I've moved some very heavy loads with my little Prairie. On level ground, wouldn't want to try that on a hill.
My 400 will handle anything I'm gonna tow but usually the quad is still on the trailer when I need to stick the trailer in that very tight parking slot. Without the camper on the truck I can get a trailer in just about anywhere. You learn to do it pretty well when you have your boat in and out 6 to 8 times each day over a 3 day weekend. Or try prop testing, one 3 minute run then back on the trailer and change the prop and another 3 minute run, for 5 or 6 props and of course back in one last time to recheck the best prop. Then I worked at boat shops a lot of years backing boats with a forklift.
If you do it alot it does become pretty easy my buddy Steve and I had my boat launch time down to around 3 minutes

Different pivot point, 53' of trailer is easy to manuver when you sit 5' from that pivot point, MH you sit 26' from that pivot point if that makes any sense. But ya'll are right, I can squeeze 70' of tractor trailer in and around the tightest spots, so I shouldn't be too worried, I've just nevered backed a 29' MH with a 20' enclosed trailer before, what else can I say, but, Poo Say, atleast that's what Rod will say

I'll prolly ride around the yard a bit like usual.

I sure hope thats one big a$$ yard...
It is Some refer to it as Capital Forest OFC refers to it as his yard LOL

Huh? So longer tongue equal more hitch weight which transfer to rear axle of MH?
Yup, if you have a longer hitch extension on the motor home each pound you add at the ball will be more on the axle than with a short extension. Just like a lever used to pick something up. The longer the lever the more a given weight at the end of it can move. When you go to weigh your empty rig put just the rear axle on the scale and weigh it. Then stand on the rear hitch and see what the axle weighs. Take this axle weight difference and divide it by your weight and you have the ratio of weight added to the hitch vs weight added to the rear axle.
I believe that Happa was talking about an extended hitch on the trailer, not an extension on the receiver/motorhome. So actually the longer the hitch tongue on the trailer, the lighter the tongue.
Same effect though if you have a longer tounge on the trailer it would still be heavier on the Axle of the MH. A shorter tounge would put more weight on the trailer tires
It's all about leverage. The longer the tongue, the easier it is to pick up the tongue, hence less tongue weight.
Ten and Rancher have not made it to cave man status.. some of us are advanced cavemen
Thank You!
