Now the tough part of begging a round trip ticket to Oregon out of someone Cough, Hint, cough
We're going for the second half of the week... leaving after work Tuesday night, probably make it to Salem and pull over for the night. Arrive at Coos Bay around Noon ish. The trailer will be full, but you're more than welcome to stay in the trailer (while we're there) and hitch a ride with us if you can get your trike down there.

Default Puget Sound/Seattle/Northwest Area Riders Meet HERE!!!

Just found out the boy who died Sunday at Beverly was my Moms next door neighbor and was her little buddy
Today was the first time she could gather herself to talk to me. She said she has gone from sad to mad and now to a little understanding. She said at on point she was mad at me for letting Jake ride. She didn't know all the details but says she know he has rode quads for about 5yrs and also races midget cars she thinks at Monroe. I guess his dad is an ex-car racer at Monroe also.

Its sad and kinda makes a person as a parent and in my Moms case a grandparent, wonder if it is the right thing letting our children do these potentially deadly motorized sports. I know I would be totally devastated if that would have been Jake instead of Spencer who's funeral is this Friday at Greenwood. His Mom says Spencer played the saxophone and said he probably will be jamming in Heaven with Jimmy(Henderix for those non-locals). With the known risk to our children it is hard to know just what to do.

I do know that alot of our children and Jake included have not just an interest but a passion for riding. If a couple weeks go by without racing Jake starts asking almost everyday "When am I going to race again? or When are we going to the dunes again?"
Also after spending some time around other kids at the race track and in our riding groups, I see respectful good mannered kids. Along with committed parents that are keeping their family together and know where there teenagers are on Saturday nights(in bed getting sleep before Sunday's race)
I also believe that our children are at more risk riding in a car or riding their bikes as they are riding ATV's with the proper safety gear, training, and parental guidance.

I'm not the best at communicating my feelings and thoughts but hope I am making some sort of sense. Till I can make sense or even some cents...

GOD SPEED SPENCER WHITMAN!

There are a couple big rigs going, or maybe Jayna. You could sleep with the dog!
No way am I giving up the dog! He sleeps up front with me. However, MB, you are more than welcome to toss a cot in the back of the trailer. No tent poles required.

I sit here with mixed emotions. I have the go ahead from the Wife and the workplace. It looks like everyone is headed south while my friends from Virgina are here. There is always another dune trip, and my buddy is due to head back to the land of sand for the third time. I'll prolly sit this dune trip out as well.

No, no, no, nothing like Larry.
I have only been looking on craigslist. This will be my first foray to a trailer sales lot. Also unlike Larry, I know what size I want, 7X14. I was just hoping for a Cheech type deal. But I'm afraid that won't be happening.
I also had to wait until I had my taxes complete so I knew how much I owed, so I'd know what I had to spend.
If I find what I want, I will also be selling my flatbed/carhauler tilt bed trailer.

Friends and relatives are lucky they aren't coming to visit me for Easter, because I won't be here! Even if they told me they were coming! Dune trips don't come often enough for me!
